Started a poultry business in 1915 with 50 laying hens and peddled eggs
in Rumford and the vicinity. Later he increased the number ofhens to
about 300 with broilers, and sold day old chicks for 15 cents. His hen
house was located on the Old Rumford road and had to be taken down at the
time the cut for Rt. 108 was put through. His wife continued with the
poultry business on a smaller scale and he became a car salesman
