We are including Abigail Gustin in our file as the first wife of John Brown of Buckfield based on a marriage record on file at the Maine State Archives:
Groom Name BROWN, JOHN
Groom Town FALMOUTH
Groom State ME
Bride GUSTIN, ABIGAIL
Bride Town FALMOUTH
Bride State ME
Month of Marriage 4
Day of Marriage 20
Year of Marriage 1746
More Information N
Place FALMOUTH
Comment INTENTION FILED 4/20/1746.
A search on Abigail Gustin daughter of David and Jane Gustin at Family Search and at World Connect yielded no marriage information even though a number of files were found that listed Abigail as daugher of this family.
According to the "History of Buckfield" by Cole and Whitman (1915), John was a widower by the year 1777 when he moved from New Gloucester to Buckfield. The book also names two of his daughters who were by that time married; ABIGAIL who was married to Thomas Allen and Mary who married Nathaniel Buck.
The above marriage date is consistent with John having two married daughers by 1777 and with his approximate date of birth of 1720 as given in the "History of Buckfield".
More research is needed to prove the above however the circumstances of time, place and names lead us to believe this assumption is correct. [GDB 3 SEP 2003]

Daniel was a potter, and in his will he left his implements to his son, John. He made his will on November 25, 1631:
"Daniell Lyvermore of Wethersfeild in the County of Essex and Diocese of London, Potter..."
General Notes: Child - John Livermore
John Livermore, the ancestor of nearly all the Livermores in the United States, embarked at Ipswich, England, for New England, the last of April, 1634, then aged 28 years, in the "Francis," John Cutting, master, a large portion of the passengers settling in Watertown, Mass. In the list of passengers his name was spelt John Lyuermore. He had previously married, in England, Grace Sherman, a daughter of Edmond Sherman and Grace Makin, who had lived both in Dedham and Colchester, County Essex. Her father came to New England in 1634, and died in New Haven, Ct., about 1641. There is a tradition that he came over without his wife, and that afterwards she came with one or more children about 1637.
He was admitted freeman May 6, 1635; on the list his name is written Leathermore. It is on a list of very early proprietors of Watertown; this is not dated, but contains the names of many of those who went to Wethersfield, Ct., and Dedham, Mass., in 1635 and 1636. In 1635 he removed to Wethersfield, with other Watertown people, and in 1638 or '39 he removed to Quinnipiac, now New Haven, being one of the original settlers, where he was June 4, 1639.
