She had 4 sisters and 4 brothers. She lived at Buxton, Yarmouth, Porter, & Beddleford, Maine and then Mendota, ILL where she came with her second husband Thomas Chick in 1854. After Jeremiah's death in 1837, she married Thomas Chick of Cornish, York Co., Me. at Buxton, Maine, July 7, 1840. Thomas Chick has one child from a previous marriage - Sarah Jane Chick b. Sept 6, 1834 . She died in Besbee, AZ Aug 23, 1914.

Mrs Almira Chick was born at Buxton, Maine, in 1804. Her maiden name was Cobb. She was one of a family of four sisters and 4 brothers. One sister and two brothers survive her, and yet live in the state of Maine. She was wedded to Jeremiah Marston of Yarmouth, Maine, in 1825. To them were born two daughters and five sons. Her first husband having died, she was married a second time, in 1841, to Thomas Chick, at Buxton, Maine. Two sons were born of this union; one of them passed before her to the other world. Her home was, at different periods of her life, at Buxton, Yarmouth, Porter and Biddeford, Maine; and at Mendota, IL, where she came with her husband in 1854 and has lived for the past 37 years. The last years of her life were spent at the home of her son, Jeremiah Marston, where she died April 20, 1891, at 10:15, P.M., at the ripe age of 87 years.
She leaves, to mourn her decease, two brothers, William and Ossman Cobb, at BHuxton, Maine; four sons and one daughter, namely:- Jeremiah Marston, of Mendota, IL. ; Roswell Marston, of Minonk, IL.,; Hiram Marston, of Fulton Co., IL.;Ferdinand Chick, of Hastings, Neb.; and Mrs, Martha A. Dix, of Kansas City, MO.
Sister Chick was a child of Christian parents and trainihg. She delighted to tell how her father was a deacon for forty yeats in the same Congregational church in Maine, and that her brother is still a deacon in that church. Her father's house was always open to the entertainment of passing Ministers and so she came to have a wide acquaintance with them; and in her later days, though her memory became sadly weakened with advancing age, she recalled, with great facility, the names and experiences of the early days.
At about twelve years of age she heard the call of the Savior to follow him, and soon became a member of the church to which she was always warmly attached, and of which she was an earnest member during the active years of her life. For some years past she had not been able to take an active part in the work or attendance upon the Services of the church, but has kept her membership in the First Baptist Church, of Mendota, her interest in the Lord's cause or service never ceasing until her death. One of the last wishes expressed to her pastor was that she might be a member of the church until she died, and that her children might enjoy, as she had done for sevenyy-five years, the joys and comforts of the Christian's hope.
She came like a sheaf of grain fully ripened to the harvest. Her last sickness was but of a few days duration, and, with but little apparent suffering, she sank without a struggle, like a weary child, to sleep ----- to sleep in Jesus.

He was the third born, and second son of Jeremiah and Almira Cobb Marston. He came to Illinois when a young man about 1853 and settled in Minonk, IL. He met and married Mary Berry and lived in Minonk, IL. They moved to Lowell, IL, LaSalle, Co., where he made flour barrels for Todd's Mills. They had one child,

'Rosswell C. Marston was born at North Yarmouth, Maine, on February 4, 1830, and died on December 12, 1908. His early life was spent in the State of Maine. About the year of 1853 he came to Illinois and soon after he was married to a Miss Mary Berry, who died about 1859, leaving one son, Colby. During this time they lived at Lowell, LaSalle Co., IL. Being a carpenter by trade he was employed at Todd's Mills making flour barrels. After the wife's death he married to Miss Lucinda Berry and moved to the farm now occupied by A.W. Luke, south of Dana. There he lived until 1865, when he bought and moved to the farm near there, where he had since lived until a year ago, when he moved to Dana.
On August 11, 1869, death again visited the home, taking his wife. To this union two children were born, whom are living, they are Herbert D. and Lillian.
On January 21, 1871, he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Jones andn tp their union five children were born. They are Charles R., Lena, Wm J., Edgar S., and Flora M. Ensign. They and their mother and Colby and Herbert D., who reside newt Oregon City, Ore., and Lillian M. White, of Mendota survive him. He also leaves a brother, Jeremiah, and a sister, Mrs. Dix, of Kansas City; a brother, Hiram, of London Mills, and a half-brother, Fred Chick of Nebraska.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the M.E. church. Rev. Taylor, of Magnolia officiated, assisted by Rev. Moots. Mr. Marston lived to an old age anhd was highly respected by all who knew him. His wife mourns the loss of a kind husband, the children a kind and loving father and the citizens a good man. A large concourse of relatives and friends attended the funeral. The remains were laid to rest in the Cemetery south of town.'

'HIRAM H. MARSTON -- born near Portland, Maine, June 25, 1833. He was left an orphan at the age of five. When twenty years of age he came to Mendota, LaSalle Co., ILm abd at this place he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Johnston, February 9, 1864. To this union, two children were born, EDgar, who departed this life, May 28, 1910, and Mrs Nellie Young, of near this place. In the spring of 1875 he moved to his farm west of London Mills, where he lived until Nov. 1913, when he moved into London Mills, which place he departed this life Februart 13, 1920, aged 86 years seven months and eighteen days. Feb 9th was the 56th awedding anniversary.
Besides his wife and daughter, he leaves one brother, Jeremiah Marston and one sister, Mrs. Martha Dix, both of Kansas City, MO , one half brother, Ferdinand Chick of Hastings, Neb. , three granchildren, and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home in London Mills, Rev. Jones officiating, assisted by Rev. Shawgo. Mr. Shawgo, Mrs. Jones, Jay Harlan and Mrs. Jesse Owens sang, withg Mrs. Harlan at the organ.
Interment was made in Pleasabnt Hill Cemetery.'

'The remains of the late Jeremiah Marston were brought here from Kansas City on Monday and taken to the undertaking parlors at the F. R. Bailey store where short services were held that afternoon, conducted by the Rev. H. W. Dack, after which the funeral corage wended its way to beautiful Restland and the body was laid away in the family lot.
Jeremiah Marston was born on Feb 15th, 1837, in North Yarmouth, Maine and departed this life on Sunday morning, Dec 20th, 1920. Had he lived until next February he would have been 84 years of age. The deceased was a resident of Illinois until about 20 years ago when he went to Missouri and since that time he has divided up his residence between Missouri and Florida, spending the summers in the north and the winters down south. In his early days he united with the Baptist church in Mendota, but has not for many years been closely associated with any church. However his faith in his church and his God remained steadfast. He was a true Christian and a devout son and brother.
The deceased was the youngest of seven children. Only one sister survives him, Mrs. Martha A. Dix, at whose home he died at Kansas City, MO.
He was an Uncle of Mrs. John White of this city. Many of our citizens will recall the residence of this respected citizen and will cherish the memory of the good deeds he performed as he passed this way in the journey which has been brought to a close. '

1. Henry was brought up in the Church of England, but in his youngmanhood, because of the wrongs tolerated in that Church, broke away fromthe Establishment and joined the Pilgrims. He is said to have unitedwith a Congregational Church in London, of which the Rev. John Lothropwas then pastor. He probably came to America in "The Anne" in 1629. Hemoved to Scituate, Massachusetts, in 1633, and from there to Barnstable,Massachusetts, in 1639. He was Deacon or Ruling Elder in Scituate andBarnstable 34 years. He also held various civil offices, among them thatof Deputy to the General Court of the Colony for several years.
