Peter Parlee is located in Durham Township, Bucks Co., PA before the
American Revolution. His name also appears on several Muster Rolls for
the 2nd New Je rseyVolunteers. At the close of the War, his land was
confiscated and re res ettled in Sussex, New Brunswick, after being
captured by American forces atle ast twice. Peter was married twice, but
his first wife's name is not known. His second marriage was to Lydia
Robbins (married between 1764 and 1774).
General Notes: Child - Elizabeth Parlee
The Perlier family were from Staten Island, but, after the father's death
in 1723, the family, like many of their neighborns removed to New
Jersey. They came by way of Perth Amboy, the Raritan and Millstone
Rivers, and thence the brances of said rivers into Hunterdon Co. The
Perliers were found in Amwell Township, and we believe this is where
Nathaniel met and married Elizabeth Pe rlier. Her brother Peter Perlier,
also, met and married Lydia Robbins in Amw ell, as the Robbins family
lived there also.

'Rosswell C. Marston was born at North Yarmouth, Maine, on February 4, 1830, and died on December 12, 1908. His early life was spent in the State of Maine. About the year of 1853 he came to Illinois and soon after he was married to a Miss Mary Berry, who died about 1859, leaving one son, Colby. During this time they lived at Lowell, LaSalle Co., IL. Being a carpenter by trade he was employed at Todd's Mills making flour barrels. After the wife's death he married to Miss Lucinda Berry and moved to the farm now occupied by A.W. Luke, south of Dana. There he lived until 1865, when he bought and moved to the farm near there, where he had since lived until a year ago, when he moved to Dana.
On August 11, 1869, death again visited the home, taking his wife. To this union two children were born, whom are living, they are Herbert D. and Lillian.
On January 21, 1871, he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Jones andn tp their union five children were born. They are Charles R., Lena, Wm J., Edgar S., and Flora M. Ensign. They and their mother and Colby and Herbert D., who reside newt Oregon City, Ore., and Lillian M. White, of Mendota survive him. He also leaves a brother, Jeremiah, and a sister, Mrs. Dix, of Kansas City; a brother, Hiram, of London Mills, and a half-brother, Fred Chick of Nebraska.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the M.E. church. Rev. Taylor, of Magnolia officiated, assisted by Rev. Moots. Mr. Marston lived to an old age anhd was highly respected by all who knew him. His wife mourns the loss of a kind husband, the children a kind and loving father and the citizens a good man. A large concourse of relatives and friends attended the funeral. The remains were laid to rest in the Cemetery south of town.'

Obituary --
'Alice Agnes Jones, born August 3, 1849, at Woodstock, Ohio, lived there until 1850, when with her parents she moved to Illinois near Metamora, Woodford County. From there they moved to a farm two miles south and one and one-half miles east of Dana.
At the age of twenty-two she was married to Rosswell C. Marston and lived on a farm not far from her girlhood home. To this union were born five children; Charles R., Wm.J., Edgar S., of Dana; Mrs Roy Ensign of Long Point and Lena, who died in infancy. She leaves three step-children; Colby, of Gresham, Ore., Herbert D. of Oregon City, Ore., and Mrs. Lillie White of Mendota, and one sister of Lincoln, Neb., and twenty grandchildren.
January 1, 1907 with her husband, she moved to the village of Dana, where he died Dec. 12, 1908. On Sept 25, 1915, she was married to Lewis Powell, who survives. She passed away January 29, 1925 at the age of 75 years, 5 monyhs and 26 days. She was a great lover of flowers and a faithful member of the Christian church and her passing will be greatly mourned by all who knew her.
The funeral was held at the Christian church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, with burial in the Dana cemetery. The pallbearers were Wm. Tullis, Ezekiel Marshall, L. T. Crawford, T.C. Dykes, Robert Marshall and George Marshall.'

9th Generation of Marston - attended Dana, IL schools and spent most of his life in the Dana Community. He was employed as a tiler during his active life. One adopted daughter--Effie May married Galon Wilhelm. They had 2 children Laddie Wilhelm who never married. 1999 was a resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minonk, IL. Diane Wilhelm Married Jeff Carlson and living in Minonk, IL. No further information. Effie May died in Heritage Manor Nursing Home Minonk, IL on Dec 25, 1999

'Charles Rosswell (article has Roscoe) Marston, 79, Dana, died at 12:55 a.m. yesterday morning (Wednesday, Jan 9) at St. Francis hospital in Peoria. He had been ill about two months.
The remains were taken to the Wilcox Funeral Home in Minonk, where friends may call after 2:00 p.m. today (Thursday). Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 11 at 2:00 p.m. from the Wilcox Funeral Home, with the Rev. riley, Dana Methodist minister officiating. BHurial will be in the Dana Cemetery.
Mr. Marston was born at Dana, Nov. 20, 1872, a son of Rosswell and Agnes Jones Marston. He attended Dana rural schools and spent most of his life as a resident of the Dana community. He was employed as a tiler during his active life, but had been retired for some time.
He was united in marriage with Bertha Almeda Powell, at Ancona, on May 27, 1900. She died last Oct. 28. He is survived by one (adopted) daughter, Mrs. Effie May Wilhelm of Dana, and by two grandchilfren, Laddie and Diane Wilhelm of Dana. There are also two brothers, Will Marston of Dana, and Edgar Marston of Long Point; a sister Mrs. Flora Ensign of Long Point, and a sister, Mrs Lilly White of Mendora.
He was a member of the Dana Methodist Church.'

Railroad station Agent and Telegrapher. He took his first job at Leeds, LaSalle Co., IL. early in 1905. He had the '3rd trick' on the Santa Fe R. R. He was moved to Long Point, IL as agent and operator - then to Dana, IL. Santa Fe R. R. / Pekin Branch. He and his wife lived in Dana all but two of their fifty (plus) years of marriage. He was agent for 49 years and 47 of them was in Dana. He retired Sept. 1, 1953.
A letter from R. J. Yost, Superintendent, of Atchison, Topeca and Santa Fe Railway Company, to W. J. Marston, on August 7, 1953, states 'It has been a pleasure to have worked with you these many years, and I sincerely trust that you will enjoy your pension and good health for many years to come. You have a record with this company of which you may be justly proud, this record showing that you have been an employee for nearly 50 years.'
He was a member of the Long Point Masonic Lodge, the Bloomington Consistory and the Long Point Eastern Star. He had been a member of the Dana school board for several terms.

Note: David Libbey of Manchester has been blind for 22 years, the result of being blown up May 29, 1854, while drilling out a charge of powder in a rock in Pennsylvania.He is a native of Epsom and first went to Manchester in 1841, for a few months, returning there again in February, 1844, since which time he has made that city his home. He keeps a shop on Pine street where he sells brooms washing machines, etc.. He learned to make brooms at the blind institution in Boston, after losing his eyesight. He is 57 years of age and has 2 sons, 19 and 21 years of age. He has no difficulty in making his way about that portion of the city which he was familiar with before losing his sight.

William C. Wightman, Jr.
"William C. Wightman, Jr., engineer with the Spring Canyon Coal Company at Storrs, thus representing the Jesse Knight interests, was born in Payson, Utah, May 22, 1856, a son of William C. and Lucretia J. (Pepper) Wightman. The father is a native of the state of New York and came to Utah in 1854. The mother was born in Quincy, Illinois, and she traveled westward with the same ox train in which Mr. Wightman made the journey to Utah. They were married in Salt Lake City in 1855 and there Mr. Wightman took up blacksmithing. During the summer of that year he removed to Payson, where he opened the first blacksmith shop. In 1863 he went with cattle for emigrants, thus assisting people of his faith in reaching Utah. In 1865 he was called to ald in settling the Muddy--a district that was soon afterward awarded to Nevada with the establishment of the boundary line between the two states. Owing to the sandy soil there was great difficulty in maintaining the irrigation ditches, so that Mr. Wightman and his companions who were colonizing that district were released and he returned to Payson, where he is still living at the advanced age of eighty-six years. The mother, however, died in 1906. Their children were William C., Martha Jane, Lucretia Ann, Mary, Lyman E., Harry P., Frank, Roy and Rolla. William C. Wightman, Jr., began his education in the public schools of Payson and afterward spent two years as a student under Warren and Wilson Duzenberry, who were noted educators of that day, at Provo. When his textbooks were put aside he took up the occupation of farming, which he followed until 1880 and then began railroading, having charge of an engine for twenty years. Upon leaving the road he took charge of the electric light plant at Payson, remaining as manager in that position for ten years. He made a trip to Arizona as head machinist and there took charge of the Keystone mine but returned to Payson in 1907 on account of his mother's death. He was next employed by Jesse Knight as a mechanic at the smelter and mine at Tintic. In 1912 the Utah Fuel Company was having trouble to install and operate a large pump--the largest which up to that time had ever been brought to Utah. Mr. Wightman was sent for to correct this trouble, the pump being at Range Creek, near Sunnyside. He was successful in accomplishing the task and operated the pump for several years. He then came to Storrs, again in the employ of Jesse Knight, and is still operating for the Spring Canyon Coal Company, one of the Knight interests. He is an engineer of recognized ability and his position is an important one. As he has prospered he has made judicious investments in real estate and is now the owner of a whole block in Payson, where he also has a comfortable home. On the 24th of May, 1875, in Salt Lake City, Mr. Wightman was married to Miss Harriet S. Jones, a daughter of James M. and Mary Ann (Partridge) Jones. Her father was born in England, January 1, 1817, and her mother in New York on the 11th of March, 1823. They came to Utah in the early '50s and Mr. Jones was well acquainted with the prophet Joseph Smith at Nauvoo and did much work for him. He lived to a ripe old age and for years was known as "Grandpa" Jones throughout Payson, where he eventually passed away after a very extended residence there from the period of its early development and colonization. Mrs. Wightman was one of a family of four children, the others being James M., Eliza J. and Amasa L. To Mr. and Mrs. Wightman have been born thirteen children of whom seven are still living. Harriet S., born October 10, 1879, is the wife of Professor Milton H. Ross and they have four living children. Laura Ethel, born March 13, 1881, is the wife of Dr. N. C. Spaulding and they have four living children. Cynthia Lapearl, born May 13, 1884, married Fred S. Davis and their family numbers five children. Genevieve, born June 27, 1891, is the wife of Dr. Cyrus W. Elsworth and has two children. Dollie, born July 7, 1893, is the wife of Professor Carl O. Nelson and has three children. Lucile, born January 1, 1897, is the wife of Professor Glen Simmons, who joined the Marines during the World war. Leslie Orlynn, born July 3, 1899, joined the army in June, 1917, and was quarantined three different times, thus delaying his going overseas. He served with the Marines in the Eleventh Division and this company was practically wiped out in the battle of the Marne. Leslie O., however, returned home in April, 1919. Mr. (William Charles) Wightman is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and filled a mission to the southern states in 1876 and 1877. He held the position of a Seventy for thirty years and for twelve years was senior president of the quorum. He is now a member of the High Priests' Quorum and at one time he and four of his daughters were officers and teachers in the Sunday school. In politics he is a republican and for three terms has served as a member of the city council of Payson, exercising his official prerogatives in support of all well defined plans and measures for the general good. Advancement has actuated him at every point in his career. He has made steady progress in business and at the same time he has contributed largely and helpfully to the upbuilding of the church and the advancement of public interests."
