General Notes: Husband - Laurence Larry Frederick Reece
TRENTON - Laurence Frederick Reece, 82, passed away June 19, 2012, after a short illness. He was born July 10, 1929, in Houlton, the son of Laurel F. and Ella Rodgerson Reece. Larry was an avid bowler. At 14 years of age he was the state junior champion bowler. In 1965 he was a member of the World Candlepin Champions. He was a member of Houlton Elks Club and Houlton Dux Club bowling teams. He was the manager of the Hilltop Bowling Lanes and general manager of Skowhegan Bowling Lanes. In 1964 Larry was the sports editor for Houlton Pioneer Times, sports director for WHOU and announced ball games for WMKR, Millinocket and Bee Line TV. He was a member of Maine State Harness Horseman Association in 1982, and owned the top pacer horse in the state, named Two Score. Larry was president of Houlton Jaycees and chairman of the Fourth of July celebration in the 1950s. He was instrumental in getting the Gordon Manuel game management in Hodgdon and Glen Manuel Head of Fish and Game. He and his now deceased best friend, Buck Hastings, were co-owners of several harness racing horses. Larry and his wife, Norma, worked at Colonel's Deli and Restaurant, Northeast Harbor, and the Tennis Club, Seal Harbor, for their son, Terry. Larry is survived by three sons, Rodney "Tommy" and his companion, Diane, Terry and his wife, Sherry, Ricky and his wife, Diane; a daughter, Dawn and her husband, Doug; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by wife of 60 years, Norma J. (Hussey) Reece, in September 2011; a 3-month-old daughter, Tammy Jean, in 1959; and his brother, Paul Eugene.

TRENTON and HOULTON \endash Norma Jean Reece, 80, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, after a long illness. She was born Jan. 19, 1931, in Upper Woodstock, New Brunswick, daughter of Harry and Elizabeth (Abbott) Hussey.
Norma attended school at Bowdoin Street and graduated from Houlton High School in 1948. She married Larry Reece, in 1949. Throughout the years Norma worked at Colonels Restaurant, Northeast Harbor, and became famous for her fish chowder and lobster salad plates that are still being made today using her recipes. She also worked at Robinson's Ice Cream Bar and was co-owner of a bowling alley with her husband in Millinocket.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Larry; three sons, Rodney "Tommy" and his companion, Diane, Terry and his wife, Sherry, and Ricky and his wife, Diane; a daughter, Dawn and her husband, Doug; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Norma was predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Jean, who was born in 1959 and died at 3 months old; two sisters, Hazel and Betty; and one brother, Benjamin.

Richard Jr. Otis, Like his father, was a master blacksmith. Richard Jr. S urvived the massacre of 1689 but was wounded in the attack of 1696. Hi s wife, Susannah gave birth to their son Nicolas in on Apr 8 1701 so R ichard Jr. must have died towards the end of 1700. His widow Susanna h administered his estate in 1701-02 and was appointed guardian of 5 m inor children all under the age of 14 in 1704.

EAST MILLINOCKET AND MILLINOCKET \endash EAST MILLINOCKET and MILLINOCKET \endash Rudy F. Landry Sr., 80, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 30, 2013 at a Millinocket hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1933 in Millinocket, a son of Alex and Annie (Boutaugh) Landry.
Rudy grew up in Millinocket, and attended St. Martin of Tours Catholic School. He went to work at Great Northern Paper Company at the age of 16, where he stayed employed for 37 years until his retirement in 1987. In his younger years, Rudy was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and playing softball. After marrying Edna Hutchins, he became a devoted husband, father, and family man, and was always an active participant in various sporting events with his children. Rudy spent his retirement years watching his grandchildren grow, and often helping take care of them. He was a faithful morning customer at the Country Diner in Medway, where he enjoyed meeting his friends to discuss the latest sports news and issues of the day. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends and caregivers.
Rudy is survived by four children, Rudy Landry, Jr. and his wife, Mariam, of East Millinocket, Margaret Osborne and her husband, Larry, of Medway, Marie Kimball and her fiancé, Clint Powers, of Milford, and Tina Arsenault and her husband, Lenny, of South Twin Lake; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five siblings, Ray Landry and his wife, Vicki, Alex Landry Jr. and his wife, Dora, all of Texas, Phil Landry and his wife, Vi, of Connecticut, Rev. Leroy Landry of Lowell, Mass., and Michael Landry and his wife, Patricia, of Connecticut; a very special brother-in-law, Johnny Levesque of Millinocket; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Rudy was predeceased by his wife, Edna (Hutchins) Landry, a son, Mark Stephen Landry, and siblings, Martin Landry, Alexine Tinkham, Patrick Landry, and Edgar Landry.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rudy's caregivers at Katahdin Health Care, known as "Rudy's Angels" \endash Tina Robinson, Lynn Barnett, and Deb Plourde for their regular visits, upbeat conversations, and positive impact on Rudy's life during his stay at KHC.
