across the road from Arthur Lemay. It was established in the early
1900's and he did blacksmithing there until till his death in 1934. Prior
to this, he had a shop where Clifton Hardy now lives, on the Canton/Peru
town line. Although he did not shoe horses, he did make horse shoes and
did much repairing of chains.

LINCOLN- Nancy L. Mathewson, 58, wife of Ron Mathewson, died November 4, 2003 at a Lincoln hospital. She was born November 1, 1945, the daughter of Everett and Warnita (Murdough) McLeod. Nancy was a member of the Mattawamkeag Church of God and worked at Shop N Save for 22 years.
