Involved with "Patrick C Mooney of Danville" in 1843 land deals concerning 57 acre "Lot 24 in part of Danville called, Walden Gore" [Dan.Land.Recs(11:174)].
This same lot of land was bought by "Joel Mooney of Danville" March 19, 1839 from John Bachelder and quit claimed back to him Nov. 18, 1840 [Dan.Land.Recs(10:170,175,383)].
However, on Nov. 5, 1840 "Patrick Mooney Jr of Hartland, Windsor Co" had bought this same lot 24 from [his neighbor per 1840 census] Joel Sanborn [Dan.Land.Recs(10:372-3)].
This Lot 24 was finally sold out of the Mooney name (no one of the name has owned land in the town since) by "Patrick C Mooney of Hartland, Windsor Co" April 29, 1848 to Willard K Langmaid [Dan.Land.Recs(12:56)].
NOTE: there are no Vital Records or Census Records for Mooney in Hartland, Windsor Co, Vt.
It is also unknown at this time whether or not "Patrick C" and "Patrick Jr" are the same person, or father and son; nor, whether husband or son of Bridget C (Maloney) Mooney.

JOSHUA RICHARDSON, only son of Joshuaand Hannah Richardson; born in
Woburn, Oct., 18, 1716; married, first, July 11, 1739, Eunice Jennison,
born 1719, dau. of Peter and Jane Jennison, of Sudbury. She was born in
Sudbury, but in the record of her marriage she is said to be of Weston,
because at that time her mother was the wife of Joseph Brooks, of
Weston. The date of her birth and her parentage are erroneously given in
Bond's Watertown Genealogies, p. 308, No. 37, and in the Vinton Memorial,
p. 393, and again in the Giles Memorial, p. 241, by the compiler of this
volume. She died two weeks after the birth of her last child, April 13,
1748, aged 29.
Joshua Richardson married, secondly, Abigail Carter, who outlived him
and died in Salem, about 1795.
He lived in Woburn, and died march 13, 1774,in his fifty-eighth year.

BIO: Martin was born in Sjaelland, Denmark on May 16, 1847 to Lars and Mary (Jansen) Larson. Martin was reared in his native land and at the age of eighteen he was drafted into the Danish Army where he served as a Foot Guard to King Christian.
In 1871, when he was 25, Martin emigrated to America. Among the other Danish emigrants on the same ship was Martin's future wife Carrie Matteson (Madson), daughter of Matt and Anna (Sceanson or Sorenson) Matteson. Carrie was born at Lolland, Denmark on March 26, 1849. The emigrant ship set sail from Glasgow, Scotland bound for New York. Enroute, the ship became locked in an ice flow. Days later, after freeing itself, but low on fuel and provisions, the ship put into port at Halifax, Nova Scotia. The liner then sailed on down the St. Lawrence River to Quebec.
After docking at Quebec, Martin left the group and went to his sister's home at Rankin, Illinois. He then farmed for about 2 years at Dunlap Station, Peoria County, Illinois. In 1874, Martin drove a team of oxen from Peoria County to Concord, Hancock County, Iowa. From Concord, Martin went on to Buffalo Grove, located north of Britt, Iowa, in Crystal Township. There Martin courted Carrie Matteson, who had spent her first years in America working at Buffalo Grove for James Johnson, the first settler in the area, who had paid for her passage from Denmark.
After Martin and Carrie were married on January 1, 1875 at Forest City, Iowa, they build their first house near the James Johnson home on 80 acres of land they had purchased for $5 per acre. This home was a 14x14 foot cabin with a lean-to. Later about 1885, the Larson's built a larger home to accommodate their growing family (seven children, 3 girls, 4 boys). This farm was in Section 19, Crystal Township, and is now owned by Dr. John Camp, former Britt Physician. The first crops the Larsons's raised were flax and wheat, which were broadcast by hand. After the wheat had been harvested and threshed, it was hauled to either Garner or Forest City where it was ground into whole wheat flour.
In 1886, the Larson's moved to the farm they purchased just north of the Upper Flat Evangelical Church. In fact, Martin Larson, in 1902 donated the land upon which the church was built and which became the focal point for the Danish "Upper Flat" Community.
After enduring all the Hardships of pioneer life, the Larson's retired to Crystal Lake. They had endured destructive grasshoppers, prairie fires, crop failures, and personal tragedies, yet they persevered and prospered. Martin Larson died in 1925 and his wife Carrie passed away in 1933. They were the parents of seven children: Mary (Mrs Andrew Nelson), Laurice, William, August, Anna (Mrs. Peter Hanson), James, and Olga (Mrs. Julius Jenson), who will celebrate her 100th birthday in October of 1985.

Buffalo Grove - Buffalo Grove in Crystal Township was never a town. It was an early landmark for travelers before the time of either roads or towns. The grove could be seen for miles in an otherwise treeless landscape. Located mostly in Sec. 19, it extends into Sec. 20 and 30.
The oak grove, along with other deciduous trees native to the area, covers a good sized area. It extends about a mile east to west and one half mile north to south. The trees grew on the higher mounds surrounding the ponds, sloughs and wet peat areas, which have since been drained. We do not know how the grove was named Buffalo Grove.
The first settlers were of Danish descent. James and Hans Sena (Larson) Johnson arrived in 1869, followed by Morton and Carrie (Madson) Larson. There are still many Larson descendants living in Hancock County. Later the Hans Frederickson family owned the Larson farm until it was sold to Dr. John Camp of Britt about 1960. Dr. Camp has tried faithfully to conserve the trees and other natural resources in the grove. Today a large part of the grove is on the farms owned by William and Roger Leerar and Martin Furst. A smaller portion of it is on the John Mortenson farm, which has been in the family since the early 1900s.
Buffalo Grove Hill, on the Furst farm, was a popular place for skiing and sledding. The first Buffalo Grove School was built in 1871 and later replaced in 1895. This school was in use until the consolidation of Crystal Township Schools in 1920.
A road through the grove was a real "lovers lane" until it was closed to the public in recent years. Much of the grove has been cut through the years to make way for homesteads and crop acres, but enough is left to reveal the beauty of the trees, especially in their fall colors. It is a haven for wild flowers, wild animals and birds.

...He was a member of Ca.C 6th regiment of Massachusetts Volunteers enrolled on Aug 31, 1862 to serve for 9 months. He was discharged at Lowell, Massachusetts on June 3, 1863. At the time he was Capt. He was described at enlistment 5 feet 9 inches tall light complexion blue eyes and brown hair.

...He enrolled as a private in Co. K. First Maine Volunteer Infantry, April 20, 1861 at Lewiston, Maine and was mustered in May 3, 1861 at Lewiston, Maine. He was mustered olut at Portland, Maine Aug 5, 1861. He enlisted in Co. K. 10th Maine Volunteer Feb 24, 1862 at Lewiston, Maine for three years. He was on the roll for March throught June 1862 and was taken prisoner on retreat from Winchester May 25, 1862. Hewas exchanged and joined the company again Oct 22, 1862. He was transferred to Co. A. 29th Regiment and was present in March and April 1863. He was in the hospital at Aqua Creek and subsquently on the roll to April 30, 1864. He was present throught July 1864 when he was sick at York, Pa. He transferred to Co. K, same regiement Oct 4, 1864 and he was mustered out at Stevenson Depot, Va. Feb 24, 1865.
...Leonard had inherited his father's farm and lived there on Main Street near the Greens line in Lewiston, Maine to his death.

...He made a Will in which he left everthing to his sister, Arabine Buker and niece Mary H. Dreeser, Mary Ann P. Jepson of Stoneham, Massachusetts claimed to be his widow in #5790 probate court, Androscoggin County and on June 13, 1905 she was allowed 1/2 of his estate the reminder going to his niece as his sister had died previously.

...He attened public school in his native town, Oak Grove Seminary and the Friend's School at Providence R.I. He was employed by his father in his youth and when he cvame of age was admitted to partnership under the firm name of Eli Jepson & Sons, dealers in Hay, grain, ect. in Lynn, Massachusetts. As juinor partner he had from the outset the burden of mangement and was the active head of the busness until his death.
...He was the first to introduce Pasteurized Milk to Lynn and in partship with his father did a large dairy business. Having three factories for the treatment and disposal of milk and all the products of milk, located in Winthrop. Monmouth, and Livermore Falls, Maine; finding their market for products in Lynn and vicinity.
...He was a Republican in politics and when a boy served as page in the Maine House of Representatives at the time his father was representative. In religion he held to the faith of his ancestors and was a prominent member of the Society of FRiends. He was a life member of the Young Men's Christain Assocation of Lynn and a member of the board of directors at the time of his death. He was also a member of the Boston Chamber of Commerce, the Odd Fellows and the Improved Order of Red Men.
