Seth was one of the Selectman of Hampton in 1704; on a grand jury in1700. According to records, Seth received six pounds to be paid to himby the oldest brother out of the estate, left to him. as was the custom. But his wife, the granddaughter of Roger Shaw, a large landowner may haveinherited some acres in her own right. Seth was living on the Fogghomestead, which probably meant he acquired some rights from Samuel, hisbrother, when he left for New Jersey in 1697.

An integral part of Massachusetts until 1820, Maine was granted to Sir Ferdinando Gorges by the English crown in 1622. This database is a compilation of names and biographical sketches of pioneers to the province between 1623 and 1660. Collected from a variety of contemporary sources, it was originally published in 1908 and contains over 1000 records. Each record provides the pioneer's name and biographical sketch. It includes spelling variations of the pioneer's surname and cross-referencing aids to help the researcher. In a few entries, information regarding New Hampshire pioneers from the same period is also included, p. 153.
