General Notes: Child - Richard De Grey
Richard Grey, 6th Lord Grey, of Wilton, son and heir, was born about
1393. He accompanied the King to France in August 1415, being in the
retinue of the Earl of Dorset. He was married for the first time, it is
said, to Blanche Vache. They had two sons. He was married for the second
time in 1427 to MargaretFerrers, daughter of William de Ferrers, Lord
Ferrers, of Groby, by his wifePhilippe Clifford. They had two sons.
Richard Grey, 6th Lord Grey, died testate on 13 or 20 August 1442, and
was buried at Bletchley. His widow was married for the second time before
14 February 1445/6 to Thomas Grey, Knight, of Richemount, county Bedford,
afterwards Lord Richemount Grey (a Lancastrian, captured and executed in
1461, some time after the battle of Towton). She died on 16 January
1451/2.

He was born in Crystal, Maine Nov. 4, 1913 the son of Richard H. and Mary E. (Grey) Rogers. He graduated from Patten Academy, class of 1931 and was employed as a machinist by the New Departure Hyatt Co. in Bristol, Conn. Surviving are his wife Mrs Frances (Mahaney) Rogers of Plymouth, Conn., one son, John of Denver, Colo.; three brothers, Robert of Patten, Percey of Millinocket, Donis of East Millinocket; Miss Frances E. Rogers of Patten, Mrs. Marie Walls of Millinocket, Mrs. Geraldine Kennedy of East Millinocket, Mrs. Mary Lou Cunningham of Leesburg, Fla., one granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

Benjamin Lane moved in 1770 to New Gloucester, Maine, which was largely settled by emigrants from the former town. Many Gloucester, Massachusetts families perpetuated the name of the home they left, in the town of New Gloucester on Royal's River in Maine.
Benjamin Lane bought off Peter Graffan, September 11, 1770, the 60 acre lot No. 60 in the supplement to Division 2, New Gloucester, on which he settled. The same year Benjamin Lane, Ebenezer Lane and Daniel Lane subscribed 10 pounds each toward building the meeting house. Benjamin Lane paid Micah Walker of Bakerstown, 5 pounds, January 8, 1782, for "the floor or ground Pew number five in the meeting house in New Gloucester being the most Easterly Corner Pew." He was part to conveyance of land, February 8, 1782, November 25, 1788, June 4 and June 25, 1790. He died abt 1804. (Source Cumberland County Deeds)
