FIRST RESIDENCE: Plymouth
ESTATE: In the 1623 Plymouth division of land Richard Warren received an uncertain number of acres (perhaps two) as a passenger on the Mayflower, and five acres as a passenger on the Anne (presumably for his wife and children) [PCR 12:4-6]. In the 1627 Plymouth division of cattle Richard Warren, his wife Elizabeth Warren, Nathaniel Warren, Joseph Warren, Mary Warren, Anna Warren, Sarah Warren, Elizabeth Warren and Abigail Warren were the first nine persons in the ninth company [PCR 12:12]. He was one of the purchasers [PCR 2:177].
In the 25 March 1633 Plymouth tax list Widow Warren was assessed 12s., and in the list of 27 March 1634, 9s. [PCR 1:10, 27].
On 1 July 1633 "Mrs. Warren and Robt. Bartlet" were allowed to mow where they did the previous year, and again 14 March 1635/6 [PCR 1:15, 41].
On 28 October 1633, a grant of Richard Warren's landon which he was required to erect a dwelling, returned to the court "for want of building" and it was regranted to Mr. Ralph Fogg, provided he pay Widow Warren sufficiently for her fence remaining there [PCR 1:18].
On 7 March 1636/7"it is agreed upon, by the consent of the whole Court, that Elizabeth Warren, widow, the relict of Mr. Richard Warren, deceased, shall be entered, and stand,and be purchaser instead of her said husband, as well because that (he dying before he had performed the said bargain) the said Elizabeth performed the same after his decease, as also for the establishing of the lots of lands given formerly by her unto her sons-in-law Richard Church, Robert Bartlett and Thomas Little, in marriage with their wives, her daughters" [PCR 1:54, 2:177].
On 5 May 1640 "Richard Church, Rob[er]te Bartlett, Thomas Little, & Mrs. Elizabeth Warren are granted enlargements at the heads of their lots to the foot of the Pyne Hills, leaving a way betwixt them and the Pyne Hills, for cattle and carts topass" [PCR 1:152].
On 11 June 1653, as the result of a disagreement between Mrs. Elizabeth Warren and her son, Nathaniel, and a petition offered in courtby Mrs. Jane Collier on behalf of her grandchild, Sarah, wife of Nathaniel Warren, the court chose four indifferent men to settle the matter of access to lands [MD 2:64, citing PCLR 2:73].
On 4 March 1673/4 Mary Bartlett, wife of Robert Bartlett, came into this court and owned "that she hath received full satisfaction for whatsoever she might claim as due from the estate of Mistris Elizabeth Warren, deceased, and John Cooke, in the behalf of all her sisters, testified the same before the court; and the court doth hereby settle the remainder of the said estate on Joseph Warren" [PCR 5:139-40].
BIRTH: By about 1578 basedon estimated date of marriage.
DEATH: Plymouth 1628. ("This year died Mr. Richard Warren, who hath been mentioned before in this book, and was an useful instrument; and during his life bore a deep share in the difficulties and troublesof the first settlement of the plantation of New-Plymouth" [Morton 85].
MARRIAGE: By about 1609 Elizabeth _____; she died at Plymouth on 2 October 1673, aged about 90 (probably an exaggeration) [PCR 8:35]. (Elizabeth's maiden name has been given as "March" in many sources, without documentation).

D. R. Wightman
"D. R. Wightman, proprietor of one of the leading drug stores of Springville, was born in Payson, Utah, February 27, 1878. His father, W. C. Wightman, a native of New York, was born near Buffalo, in Erie county, in 1833, and is now living at Payson. He came to Utah in 1852 and made his way first to Salt Lake, after which he removed to Payson, where he engaged in blacksmithing for a time. He later turned his attention to farming and also became proprietor of Hotel Payson. He is now living retired, enjoying a rest which he has richly earned and well deserves. The mother of D. R. Wightman was Lucretia Jane Pepper, of Quincy, Illinois, prior to her marriage. She crossed the plains in an early day and became the wife of W. C. Wightman in Salt Lake. They had a family of sixteen children, ten of whom are living. The mother departed this life in 1906. In the public schools of Payson D. R. Wightman pursued his early education and afterward became a student in the Michigan State University at Ann Arbor. He next entered the University of Utah and was active in athletic circles there, largely promoting the athletic interests of the school. He won his Ph. G. degree by successfully passing an examination before the state pharmaceutical board of Arizona and he is a member of the Utah Pharmaceutical Association. For a few years he was associated with A. C. Smith, of Salt Lake City, conducting the old Rio Grande store, of which he had charge. He then removed to Eureka, where he also engaged in the drug business, and later he spent three years in Globe, Arizona, where he established a drug store, in which he owned a half interest. Eventually he sold his business there and returned to Springville, where he opened a fine drug store, of which he is now the owner. He has a well appointed store, carries an extensive line of drugs and druggists' sundries and his business is a large and gratifying one. On January 1, 1900, Mr. Wightman was married to Miss Anna L. Warthen, of Springville, a daughter of A. B. and Eliza Warthen, early residents of Springville. They now have four children: Mabel, fourteen years of age, who is attending high school; Josephine, nine years of age, a pupil in the public schools; William Albert, aged seven, also in school; and Richard, who is five years of age. D. R. Wightman is a prominent member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, has filled all of the chairs in the local lodge and has served as district deputy grand. In politics he maintains an independent course and never seeks office, preferring to concentrate his efforts and attention upon his business. affairs, and the Central Drug Store is a beautiful double store which well merits the liberal patronage accorded it."

General Notes: Husband - Christopher H. Waterman
"About 1847, Christopher adopted a sea-faring life, and was first mate and captain. In 1851 he traded seal, oil, eggs a nd furs at San Francisco. In the New London Hotel at Havre, France, he met and married Catharine Boyle, sister of the l andlady, the marriage being performed by U.S. Chaplain EN Sawtelle.
During the Civil War he settled in Saginaw, MI, where he was engaged in the cooperage business until 1864, when he trav eled to Gallatin Valley, MT, where he took up 160 acres of Government land, which he later increased to 1800 acres. Hi s wife and child went out there in1865 via the water route to San Francisco, and made the perilous trip to Virginia Cit y, MT (then Idaho). They lived there eleven years.
He went to Maryland for several years for his health, but returned to Montana, settling in Bozeman in 1889. Mrs. Waterm an was a Roman catholic. His grandfather, David Waterman, served in the Revolutionary War."
