(Davis) Walters. She was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. She was married to Robert L. Vaznis on August 19, 1951 in Hamilton, New Jersey. "Earl" was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a lover of books, camp, and her boat rides. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert L. "Sonny" Vaznis, Sr. of Millinocket; her children, Steven Frank and wife Patty Vaznis of Millinocket, Robert Lee, Jr. and wife Jodi Vaznis also of Millinocket, Joyce Adel and husband Michael Landry of Medway, Timothy George Vaznis and companion Heather Morrison of Millinocket; four grandchildren, Faith Marie and husband Greg Currier, Jesse Michael and wife Kaci Landry, Brian Lee Landry, and Tara Lee Vaznis; four great-grandchildren, Jazmin Marie Landry, Jayden Lee Landry, Mitchel Alexander Currier, and Addison Gail Currier; two brothers, Robert Neal Walters of Brick, New Jersery and William Edward Walters also of New Jersey; two sisters, Margarette Ann Elanor Freeman of Florida, Geraldene McPhearson of Dixmont, and a favorite cousin and best friend, Ann Cotton. County,Maine, published in 1882
George Glidden, who came to Woodville in 1836, is the son of Arnold &
Hannan Glidden, who came from Piiston, Kennebec county. They had eight
children - Mercy, Nancy, Polly, Betsey E., Hannah, and Charles all of
whom are deceased; and those living are Susan, now Mrs. Robert Beatham,
of Enfield, and George, the subject of this sketch. Mr. Glidden came
hereafter Georgemade the settlement where he now lives, and spent the
remainder of his days in this area. He was a soldier in the
Revolutionary War. He died about 1841. George Glidden was born May 8,
1806, in the town of Pittston, Maine. He married his first wife Miss
Mary Beatham, by whom he had four children - Harriet, deceased wife of
James Sibley; Augustus, deceased (1864) in the army; James, now in
Aroostook County; Jeremiah, of Woodville. Mrs. George Glidden died in
1835. Mr. Glidden married his secong wife Mrs. Ruth Dutton, who died in

Jedediah, brother of Andrew, enlisted as a private in 1777 for three years service. He was assigned to Captain Burbank's Company, Brewer's Regiment. Jedediah was killed at the Battle of Monmouth, one of 69 Americans lost and 160 wounded.
A record of the services of the commissioned officers and enlisted men of Kittery and Eliot, Maine; who served their country on land and sea in the American Revolution, from 1775 to 1783.

Enlisted, July 1, 1776, and served as a private ain Capt. William Stilson's company of Col. Isaac Wyman's regiment of New Hampshire State Troops. Service in the Northern army arounf Lake Champlain. Enlisted, March 1, 1777, for three years or the war, for the town and a resident; served as a private in Capt. S. Burbank's company of the Twelfth Massachusetts Continental Infantry; with his company at Valley Forge, Jan 23, 1778. Killed at the battle of Monmouth, NJ, June 28, 1778.
Married Hannah Davis of Kittery, about June 1777, by whom he had a son, who has descendants living in the town. His widow, Hannah, married twiceagain, and in 1840 was a widow, living at Eliot, ME, aged eighty-six, a pensioner, when she applied for the State bounty.
"The regiments remained at Valley Forge, watching the British army at Philadelphia, until June 19, 1778, when they crossed the Schuylkill River, following the British army, and took part in the battle of onmouth, NJ, on June 28; lost several men killed by the enemy, among whom was Jedediah Witham of the town, in thw Twelfth Massachusetts Continental Infantry."

From York Deeds: Vol. 8, Vol. 208: Abraham Rideout, John Hutchins, Samuel Palmer and Ben Thruston bought land from Joseph Shaw, 17 Feb 1716. Abraham Rideout of Haverhill was scrivener ("scribe" or "writer") for the County of Essex, province of ye Mass Bay Co., in New England.
The preponderance of evidence is that Abraham was buried in Haverhill however there is no record. But when you review the facts it is near certain that he is buried in the Pentucket Cemetery Haverhill MA.
Per Haverhill VRs Abraham married Jemima Davis on 14 Mar 1714 in Haverhill. Jemima's family had lived in Haverhill for generations and her G grandfather was one of its founders. When Abraham died in about 1724 it would have been up to Jemima where he was buried and the family cemetery was the Pentucket. Then 13 years later when Abrahams son Benjamin died she buried him in Pentucket, likely next to his father and his stone can be seen here.
Jemima then married Dr. James Holgate and they had six children four died from the throat distemper plague that hit Haverhill in 1737 and all are buried at Pentucket Cemetery and their tombstones all in the same area can be found at the above web site. Tombstones for Abraham, Jemima and Dr. Holgate have never been found but it would be unthinkable that Jemima Abraham and Dr Holgate were not buried with their children in the family plot. It is likely that their stones fell over as many others have in that cemetery and are now a few inches below ground level. As to Abraham's first wife Mary, Abraham would have seen to her burial so not at all sure about her.

John Davis (1623-1675) was born in England, but was thefirst Davis to be raised in the colonies. He was probablyThomas' second son. He grew up in Newbury or Haverhill, theentire area being known as Salem at that time in history.Salem records show that he married Mary, possibly of thefamily Milford, and had seven children. Of this brood, thesixth child, Cornelius, was a man who was called to fightfor England and his King, and the fact that he did so had aprofound effect on where subsequent generations of theDavis Family would live.

Cornelius Davis (1653-1730) lived in Haverhill and marriedSarah Elizabeth Hilton in 1688. He was called to fight inthe Narragansett Wars and for that service, he receivedfrom the General Court a grant of a tract of land locatedin what is now known as West Stafford, Connecticut. Itsnorthern boundary was what is now the Massachusetts stateline and its western boundary was that part of Enfieldwhich later became known as Somers, Connecticut. AlthoughCornelius never removed to his granted lands, he deededthem to his son Cornelius, the second of his three sons. Inhis later years, he lived in Rowley, Massachusetts, anddied there in 1730.
