Millinocket--Albert Osborne, 64, died Sunday in a local hospital.
He was born in Staceyville, March 27, 1905, the son of Charles and
Elizabeth (Kennedy) Osborne.
He was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic church and before
his retirement four years ago, he worked as a papermaker at the Great Northern
mill for 43 years.
Surviving are his mother of Millinocket, two sons,Arthur of Malden, Mass., and
Laurier of Medway, ME., three daughters, Mrs. John (Yvette) Carland of Manchester,
NH, Mrs. Laurel (Josephine) Leavitt of Millinocket, and Mrs. Leola Sanderford of
Corpus Christi, TX; five brothers, Leonard, Epping NH, Wilfred of Weymouth, Mass.,
Verdie of Walcott, NH, Stanley of Quincy, Mass. and Kenneth of East Millinocket,
two sisters, Mrs. Edmond (Bertha) Ouellette and Mrs. Adolphe (Bertha) Levesque,
both of Millinocket, 22 grand children and one great grand-child, and several nieces
and nephews.

DADE CITY, Fla. – Kenneth Osborne died Feb. 25, 2009, at Heritage Park, located in his beloved winter home of Dade City, Fla., with his wife, Theresa and son, Patrick, by his side. Ken was born Aug. 1, 1923, in Millinocket, the son of Charles and Elizabeth Osborne. He married Theresa Michaud, Oct. 19, 1942. He and his new wife moved to Quincy, Mass., for Ken to work in the shipyard during the war. Shortly thereafter, they moved back to Maine because they missed their family. Ken took a job with O.S. Gonya delivering oil and managing a service station named Ken's Esso. While managing the service station, Ken took on many jobs to support his growing family. He became a volunteer firefighter and eventually was elected to fire chief of East Millinocket and at one point became president of the Maine Firefighters Association. He bought and operated a trailer park in Medway and named it Osborne's Trailer Park. He managed the maintenance of some of the town's property and its cemetery. In 1972, he left the service station and went to work for Great Northern Paper Co., retiring from Georgia Pacific in 1987. He and his wife bought a motor home and started their life as snowbirds in Florida, where he enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard with the guys or sitting on the patio to talk to whomever went by. Summers were spent in East Millinocket and at the camp in Lincoln with his large family doing the Osborne things of eating, making fires, drinking beer, telling stories and cutting down trees. Ken was a faithful Catholic his whole life. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, East Millinocket, but was known to visit whichever church he was close to during his many rides. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents, brothers and sisters, Ken was predeceased by two children, Beverly and Dorothy "Dot"; one grandchild, Andrew Deschaine; and one great-grandchild, Alysia Brown. Ken is survived by his wife of 66 years, Theresa; five daughters and four sons, Elizabeth Larlick and husband, Edward, of Doylestown, Pa., Ross Osborne and wife, Linda, of Scarborough, Thomas Osborne and wife, Karlene, of Scarborough, Susan Sickler and faithful companion, Jack Ivers, of South Portland, Nancy McCoy and husband, Pat, of Orrington, son-in-law, Ronald Chasse of East Millinocket, Sandra Deschaine and husband, Ervin, of Medway, Kenneth Osborne II and wife, Sally, of East Millinocket, Patrick Osborne and wife, Melanie, of Lisbon, N.H., and Margaret Popp and husband, Mike, of Sanford. He is survived by 24 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren with three more expected. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Isabelle Osborne of Millinocket, Mary Osborne of Quincy, Mass., and Lillian Miller of Goffstown, N.H. All brought incredible love and enjoyment to him during his life, as did his many nieces and nephews and the friends he made during his life journey. A celebration of his life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, East Millinocket. Hodges Family Funeral Home, Dade City, Fla.

LINCOLN – Robert Allen McGaw, 75, husband of Eva (Kennedy) McGaw, passed away Oct. 3, 2010, at a Lincoln health care facility. He was born April 18, 1935, in Danforth, the son of Clayton and Margaret (Jeffers) McGaw. Bob owned and operated his own excavation business until his health forced his retirement. He served on the board of directors of the credit union and was instrumental in the building of its new building. He was also very involved in the building of Treat Falls House, Orono. He was a very active communicant of St. Mary's Church and was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus. He regularly participated in the Tootsie Roll drive to benefit the handicapped and could often be seen selling tickets for charitable purposes. He was active in many community events. In addition to his wife, Eva, he is survived by three children, Karen and husband, Dean Bennett of Bradley, Marie McGaw and Kevin McGaw, both of Lincoln; a grandson, William and wife, Jess Bennett, of Gorham; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Neal of Bangor; in-laws, Phyllis Severance of Lincoln, Eunice and Joe Page of East Millinocket, Ethel and Wayne Clukey of Enfield, Larry Birmingham of Lincoln and Dean Neal of New Gloucester; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his extended family – the "coffee shop group." The following is taken from an article written by Taber in 1933 to a local paper in Gettysburg, SD, The Potter County News.....
The Rev. James A. Somerville was stepfather of Clarence Wilbur Taber. Somerville first came to Potter County, Dakota Territory, in the summer of 1882, from the family's home in Newark, NJ. Somerville returned to NJ with stories of grandeur about the Dakota area. In the fall he returned to Potter County, Dakota Territory with Clarence's brother and homesteaded land in Arena Township. On July 1, 1883, Clarence, Clarence's mother and Clarence's sister Ida all arrived in Potter County, Dakota Territory and stayed the first night at the Buffalo House in Gettysburg.
The intervening years after the family broke up and before Clarence went to work for the Potter County Bank, he chose not to comment on in the 1933 article he wrote to the Potter County News.
Clarence tells that he was a cashier at the bank in Gettysburg, South Dakota for 13 years (until 1899) when he moved. He was married to Jessie W. Kennedy at Gettysburg and their 3 children were born while they lived in Gettysburg.

Linwood was employed at Lincoln Pulp & Pap er for 42 years and he loved to be outside, whether it was hunting at h is camp in Springfield, fishing, working in the woods or exercising his gr een thumb on his flower gardens. He especially loved spending time on E gg Pond with his children and grandchildren. His family will always rememb er the good times on the 4th of July and the lobster feed. H. Clifford Kenney, 79, died December 12 at a local hospital. He was born at Bangor
November 7, 1891, son of William and Louise Rowe Kenney.
A graduate of Bangor High Schoolm he was an accountant for the Great Northern
Paper Company for 41 years, until his retirement in 1958. He had been a resident of Millinocket for 30 years.
He was a past master of Nollisemic Loge, AF and AM, of Millinocket, a life member of the Onawa Chapter, OES, and honorary member of the NOBA Club of Bangor. He was a member of the Hammond Street Congregational Church and the Churchmen's League. He also was of the American Association of Retired People.
Surviving are his wife, Olive Torrey Kenney, Bangor; a son Howard M. Kenney, Atlantic Highlands, NJ; two grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Clark-Mitchell Funeral Home, 299 Union Street, where friends may call today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
