Ernie was born and raised as one of thirteen siblings in Marie, PEI. He completed his basic training in Charlottetown. He signed up the same day as Art MacDonald, the first WWII Veteran we interviewed. Joining the navy was the first time he left PEI. He served from 1943 until 1947. His service was described as having no break time to eat, or free choices being made anymore. You did what you were told when you were told.
After the War Ernie stayed in Ontario. Upon moving to Ontario, he took up horseshoeing and continued in that career until he retired. He also married and has one daughter and one son. Ernie currently resides in Ontario and will be 87 in April, 2011.

Beverley (MacKay) Wyatt
It is with deep sadness the family announce the passing of Beverley (MacKay) Wyatt, age 49, a resident of Edmonton and formerly of Little Bras d'Or, on Thursday, September 28, 2006.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of Murray A. MacKay of North Sydney and the late Lillian (Jay) MacKay.
She is survived by her daughters Angela Murphy, Calgary and Jessica Wyatt and her son Steven Wyatt both of Edmonton and her companion Don Rattray, Edmonton. Also surviving are her sisters Wendy (David) Neil, North Sydney, Elizabeth (Harold) Samson, Little Bras d'Or, her brothers Donald (Francine), Boisdale, Gerald (Gertie), Point Edward, John, Sydney Mines, David (Shirley), Little Bras d'Or and Kenneth (Heather), Great Village, N.S. Also left to mourn are her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her mother Lillian, she was predeceased by her sister Marilyn Smith, her maternal grandparents John & Jessie Jay, P.E.I. and paternal grandparents Alex & Annie MacKay, Groves Point.
