Robert L. Witham
HAVERHILL - Robert L. Witham, 70, of 126 Monument St., formerly of Lisa Circle, Merrimac, died Sunday at the Hannah Duston Health Care Center in Haverhill.
Mr. Witham had been vice president of the North East National Bank branch office in Merrimac. He had worked there for 15 years and, before that, was with the Haverhill National Bank for 20 years.
Born in Haverhill, he graduated from Haverhill High with the Class of 1944 and went on to graduate from Burdette College in Boston.
He served with the Navy in both World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Witham was a former member and treasurer of the Merrimac Lions Club. He belonged to the Cedardale Athletic Club, worked out there four days a week and danced every weekend. He also enjoyed travel.
The widower of the late Rose (Casazza) Witham, he leaves daughters Glenna Cyr and her husband Eugene of Corona, Calif., and Lisa Noury of Portsmouth, N.H., a brother Kenneth P. of Salem, N.H., four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two nephews.
Services will be Thursday morning at 9:15 from Paul C. Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 36 W. Main St., Merrimac, followed by a Mass at 10:15 in the Church of the Nativity in Merrimac. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, also in Merrimac.
Family and friends may call tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruth Case
The funeral for Ruth Case will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagle Point Ward. Entombment will be in Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Salt Lake City.
Mrs. Case, 88, of Eagle Point, died Thursday (April 25, 2002) in Eagle Point.
She was born March 24, 1914, in Silver City, Utah. On Feb. 14, 1935, in Salt Lake City, she married Francis E. Case, who died in 1984.
Mrs. Case worked as a welder in the shipyards during World War II. She and her husband owned and operated several businesses together. She was also a licensed practical nurse and worked as a psychiatric nurse for the California State Hospital System, retiring in 1967. She moved to the Rogue Valley eight years ago from Paxton, Ill.
She was a member of the Eagle Point Ward of the LDS Church.
Mrs. Case enjoyed and followed the Mariners baseball team.
Survivors include a son, Bern, Eagle Point; two daughters, Mary Case, Burbank, Calif., and Susan Swink, Paxton, Ill.; a foster son, Robert Williams, Fairfield, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Relief Society Room at the LDS Church, Eagle Point Ward.

She was born Jan. 18, 1934, a daughter of James and Annie (Barnett) Case y. From the time she was a little girl, she lived with her aunt Eleanor Ba rnett and received her education in the schools of Rumford, Oxford, Main e, USA graduating from Stephens High School in 1952.
She earned her R.N. Degree from Central Maine, USA General Hospital in 195 5.
On Dec. 31, 1955, she married Charles H. (Charlie) Young. Together, they r aised four children. In the earlier years of their marriage, before she a nd her husband owned and operated Young’s Grocery Store in Dryden, Frankli n, Maine, USA and the House of Fine Meats in Farmington, Franklin, Main e, USA,she was employed as a nurse at Central Maine, USA General Hospit al in Lewiston, Androscoggin, Maine, USA and Franklin County Hospital in F armington, Franklin, Maine, USA
From 1980-85 she was employed as a nurse at International Paper Company a nd in 1985 began her employment at Boise Cascade Paper Company in Rumfor d, Oxford, Maine, USA as a nurse, retiring in 1996.
In 1986, she married Richard B. (Dick) Hodgkins. They enjoyed spending the ir winters in Florida, USA, and summers at their home on Wilson Lake Wilto n, Franklin, Maine, USA where they co-hosted the Annual Wilton Lions Cl ub Lobster Bake.
Committed to the community that they so dearly loved, they also enjoyed sh aring their knowledge of the lake with everyone who wanted a guided boat t our during Wilton’s Annual Blueberry Festival.
She was an avid sports fan and supported her children and grandchildr en as their most loyal fan at all of their athletic sporting events. She w ill be missed by all who knew her.

OBITUARY: JAMES K. CASEY
MEXICO, OXFORD, MAINE, USA--James K. Casey, 53, a former resident he re of many years, died early Saturday morning at the VA Hospital, West Hav en, New Haven, Connecticut, USA.
He was born in Middleboro, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA, July 19, 191 9, the son of James and Annie Barnett Casey. He was formerly employ ed by the Oxford Paper Company and for the past 20 years had been employ ed by Yale University as custodian. Mr. Casey was a veteran of World W ar II, serving with the 1270 Engineer Combat Battalion, Company B. He mar ried Florence Locke in Rumford, May 5, 1939. Mr. Casey was a member of t he VFW Post and DAV of New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut, USA.
