Henry enlisted in the 11th Regiment NH Volunteers, birthplace Salisbury (no state), residence Deerfield. He was discharged disabled on July 28, 1863 in Cairo, IL. Henry was in the Medical Corps; according to his pension record he contracted syphilus from an infected soldier he was treating and this infection was the reason for his discharge. A disposition by his widow indicates that Henry died of typhoid fever. His application for a disability pension was disallowed on the basis that his condition was not service-related, but his widow was eventually granted a pension. From the discription of her condition in later years, she most likely ended up with Syphilus also. (per Peter Fifield Wells website generation seven page 70 printed Jul 22, 1999)

Benejamin Fifield, born 2 Feb 1721, moved to Concord, married 1747 Hannah Peters (Seaborn, Andrew, Andrew) (intentions of marriage declared 15 Aug 1747). He died 8 Mar 1794. Some sources give this date as that of the death of his wife, but this seems incorrect, as the Concord record very clearly gives it as his death date and leaves a blank for hers.
He held several minor town offices, including Surveyor of Highways, 1768, 69, 77, 78, 80 and Tythingman, 82. His signature still a strong one, appears on the Association Test. (as per The American Genealogist v. 16, page 167)

John of Kingston, age 22 served in Captain Philips Tilton's Co, Colonel Enoch Poor's Regiment in 1775. He enlisted again at Rumney, NH and served in the Navel service on the US Sloop of War Ranger commanded by Captain Thomas Simpson.

NH Revolutionary Pension Records show a deposition from John Fifield, 65 years old on 16 April 1818. In 1826 he is in York County, ME with "relatives". John of Kingston, age 22 served in Captain Philips Tilton's Co, Colonel Enoch Poor's Regiment in 1775. He enlisted again at Rumney, NH and served in the Navel service on the US Sloop of War Ranger commanded by Captain Thomas Simpson.
