BEAN
The Beans of Hanover and Bethel ascend to Jonathan Bean, Sr. who, with thr ee of his sons, Josiah, Jonathan, Jr. and Daniel, moved from Standish to S udbury Canada. It is thought that they came to the Sudbury Canada area abo ut the time of the Indian raid in 1781 or shortly thereafter.
Jonathan, Jr. settled north of the Androscoggin River in that part of Sudb ury Canada, now Hanover. Many of his descendants, after spending their you thful years at home, chose to remain at the place of their birth, includin g, among others, Jonathan's son, John E. and five of John's children, fo ur of whom settled on farms at Howard Pond in the Howard Gore. Although Jo siah didn't settle north of the river, some of his descendants did, includ ing Wesley V. Bean, Sr. and his son Carroll E. Josiah's daughter Abigail m arried Phineas Frost, a prominent citizen who first settled north ofthe r iver but later moved south of the river, and finally to Minnesota, USA whe re they passed away.
Research would indicate that the third brother, Daniel, remained sou th of the river, and there are no records to indicate that any of his desc endants settled north of the river in what is now a part of Hanover.

JONATHAN BEAN, SR.
According to Lapham's History of Bethel, Jonathan, Sr. was born in eith er Kingston, N.H. or Brentwood, N.H., neighboring towns. His date of bir th was 1720. He and his three brothers were from hardy New England pione er stock, settling and prospering in various places in Maine, USA and N ew Hampshire, USA.
It is recorded that Jonathan, Sr. served in the Revolutionary War. He marr ied Abigail (Gordon), born in 1725, and after remaining in Brentwood for a bout three years, moved to Chester, N.H. From Chester, he moved to Standi sh and about 1781, he made his final move to Sudbury Canada, now Bethel, s ettling on a farm in the eastern part of the town, where he lived until h is death. The three sons, Daniel, Jonathan, Jr. and Josiah came with him a nd settled in various parts of the township.
Jonathan, Sr. passed away in 1809 at the age of 89, and Abigail passed aw ay twelve years later in 1821 at the age of 96. Both are buried in the Bar tlett Cemetery in Bethel.

Daniel Bean of Exeter, born 23 Mar 1663 at Exeter, died between 4 Mar and 27 May 1718. On the former date he executed a deed and on the latter, his sons in a deed refer to him as dead. He may have married twice as in a deed of 3 Sep 1711 he refers to "Mary, now my wife" At all events his wife probably died before him. On 3 May 1717 he conveyed his one-eighth of the Kingston saw mill to his son, Daniel. (as per The American Genealogist v.15, page 222)
General Notes: Child - Daniel Bean
Daniel Bean married probably Ann Sanborn (Joseph). He settled in Kingston. There is no record of births, marriages or deaths in his family. His will is dated 1745. In two deeds dated 4 Mar 1718 and 23 Jun 1718 he names a wife, Ann. He was the administrator of his father's estate in 1718. (as per The American Genealogist v. 16, page 168)
General Notes: Child - John Bean
On 27 May 1718, Daniel, John "the third", and Samuel "jr" mortgage to Captain Eastman land in Exeter, mention the house "in which our father Daniel Bean of Exeter did live" John lived in Exeter and during the lifetime of his grandfather he was called John 3rd. John,
I had to do some newspaper research yesterday in Auburn, and had a
chance to check out the shooting story. First I called the town office&
found out that Lincoln died May 25th, so I now I had a date to work
with. Sure enough...front page....and rather a sad tale. He shot the
constable because the constable
shot his dog after he refused to pay the dog tax! I probably would have
shot him too if he'd shot my dog! (Said by a true animal lover!!!). I
made copies of the article & will send them to you after I receive your
address. The article sounded like an old western shoot-out. Certainly,
it will make interesting family gossip.

"LIVERMORE FALLS SHOOTING OVER A DOGCASE, FATAL

Lincoln A. Wyman, Offended
Because Constable Berry Killed His Dog, Shot the Con-
Stable and Then Com-
mitted Suicide
------------------------
Livermore Falls, May 26--Lincoln A. Wyman, 50, shot and seriously
wounded Howard P. Berry, a town constable, at about 8:30 o'clock this
morning, and later committed suicide by shooting himself through the head
with a .38 caliber revolver. Wyman used both barrels of a 12 gauge
double-barreled shot gun in his attack on Berry. The attack was made
becauseBerry killed Wyman's dog after the latter had refused to pay a
dog tax. Berry is at the C. M. G. Hospital, Lewiston, in serious
condition and his recovery is doubtful.
----------
Several days ago, Berry called on Wyman for his dog tax and Wyman
refused to pay. After several days had elapsed, Berry went to the Wyman
house and shot Wyman's dog. Wyman was summoned to appear in the
Livermore Municipal Court, yesterday morning, but refused to go unless
Berry came after him. Berry, it is understood, agreed to go and hired an
automobile from the Livermore Falls Garage with J. H. Crosson as driver.
When Berry arrived at the Wyman house, he leaped out of the machine
just as Wyman opened a door leading from the house into the yard. Wyman
is alleged to have said to berry: "You killed my dog," and as Berry
replied that he had, Wyman reachedbehind the door casing, drew out a
double-barreled shotgun, and fired. Berry returned the fire and at about
the same time dodged behind the automobile. The chauffeur had climbed

chine and run around the corner of the house when the shotgun came into
sight.
Wyman is alleged tohave chased Berry around the car and fired the
remaining charge at him. This shot took effect in the power part of
Berry's face and in his chest. The principle wounds are in his lungs. At
the Central Maine General Hospital, where Mr. Berry was taken immediately
following the shooting, it was stated, lastevening, that he was in
serious condition. While still conscious, he suffered great pain from
his wounds, and his condition was such as to preclude any attempt to
remove the bullets.
Four or five shots penetrated his chest and lungs, and his lower jaw
and mouth were badly torn. There were no wounds on any other part of his
body, and except for the lower part, his face is comparatively free from
bullet holes.
After the shooting was over, Crosson came outfrom behind the shed and
was ordered to "get out" or Wyman "would get him," too. Crosson hurried
to Livermore where he notified Deputy Sheriff Thomas R.Williams and
Sheriff Stevens, who with Deputy S

I exchange data with people who have a interlocking marriage
into any surnames that interlocks into any of the branches
of my families.I started when I was 10 years old now 68years.
I am sharing my data in the interest of collaborative research.
I do this to help people to find there lineages and to fill
the pedigree charts.
I have not personally researched all families listed; dates
and information are subject to verification. Not responsible
for typographical errors misplaced citations. Missing
sources/references are because of my learning curve, not my
intention. You are encouraged to seek further documention
for your own confirmation.Further I have no control what
other people include about their families in any of the
data that they exchange.
If there are no dates about the living, then the computers
can not determine if the person is alive or deceased.
The sites set the living anywhere from 75 to 100 years
depending on the laws of the countries that they are in.
When I exchange with lineages the living are sometime shown
depending on who you are exchanging with, but my
request is that,if you update any of my data to the
internet, you also set the do not show the living, before
you update to the internet.
Also place in the source your contact email
address, and the lineage, so people can contact you
reqarding your update.
I have no claim to owning the data, except that which is
my immediate lineage, and even that is worked on by many
members of my family lineages. It is only as good as what
people put into it,that exchange with me. So look
in the notes of the genealogy for origin, if they put it
there,or the source.
If you are going to correct, update or put new branches on the
lineage your are inquirying about, please do not add from what
I have sent you,(This just duplicates how many more people
I have to find in the duplicates and merge them, edit your
notes to ensure that there is nothing there that you do not
want published.
Also do not submit information on copyrights that invades the
privacy of others especially for a relative that has not given
you permission to publish same.
Remember nothing is carved in stone except time.
The best way for me to describe the relationship, is for
example if you have 6,000 people in your data base
that are connected via interlocking marriages, and
you find that you have a marriage that is interlocked into
one of my people in my data base, then they are related
via interlocking marriages, does not matter how distant.
The difference here is that the interlocking into my data
base would link to over 631,749 people via interlocking
marriages.
My hobby is working on interlocking marriages,to any
family surname that is in my data, and I exchange with
people to find them, and to assist them in finding lineage
that link into their families.

My hobby is working on interlocking marriages,to any
family surname that is in my data, and I exchange with
people to find them, and to assist them in finding lineage
that link into their families.
General Notes: Child - Llewelyn Leavitt
The difference here is that the interlocking into my data
base would link to over 631,749 people via interlocking
marriages.
