Benoni F. Wyman 1910-2004
PITTSFIELD -- Benoni F. Wyman, 93, died Jan. 5, 2004, at Sebasticook
Valley Health Care Facility.
She was born in Pittsfield on Feb. 16, 1910. Her parents were the late
Cornelius and Carrie (Cross) Morrill.
Benoni graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster, Mass., in 1928.
Benoni, also known as "Noni" and "Nona" to her friends and family, was a
homemaker most of her life. She was a hard worker and had many friends.
She was also an excellent cook and baker.
Benoni had attended St. Martins Episcopal Church. Most recently, she
had resided at the Sebasticook Community Residential Home.
She is survived by her stepsons, Leonard A. Wyman and wife, Alice, of
Clinton, Robert M. Wyman of Delaware, Lawrence A. Wyman and wife,
Charlene, of Pittsfield, Martin R. Wyman and wife, Karen, of Rhode
Island, and Delmont J. Wyman and wife, Carol, of Oakland; stepdaughters,
Joanne B. Flannery of Connecticut, and Kathleen Smith and husband,
Howard, of Connecticut; nephew Ronald Morrill andwife, Rachel, of
Florida; cousins and good friends, Charles and Pat Swift ofPittsfield;
and special friends, Daphne and Malcolm Kenniston of Waterville.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Adelard Martel; second
husband, Arthur Wyman; and several brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Village Cemetery
in Pittsfield. Arrangements are underthe care of Donald Shorey Funeral
Chapel, Pittsfield.

Following the usual customof the day, John was elected hog reeve at the
Brighton town meeting in 1818,the first town meeting after being
married. In 1819, his involvement in town government changed to surveyor
of highways and fence viewer. Brighton town records show that he backed
away from civic duties for the next few years, but was elected to various
posts occasionally over the coming years.
