A Nashua resident for over 50 years. Mr. Dubay was born in Ashland. Maine, on May 23.1905. the son of Michael and Melvina (Tbersaullj Dubay.
Educated in Maine schools. Mr. Dubay had resided in Nashua since 1928 and had been employed by the Nasuua Corp. for over 40 years, retiring in 1970. He was later associated with Dick Kinney Auto Sates Inc. for several years.
Mr. Dubay was a communicant of St Francis Xavier Church, was a member of L'Union SL Jean-Baptiste. and a life member of the former Loyal Club.
Members of his family include his stepcaughter. Irene Girouard of Nasnua. with whom he made is home; five brothers. Henry Dubay of East Millinocket, Maine. Arthur Dubay of Plainfield. MILLINOCKET – Henry J. Deabay, 87, died at a local hospital on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ashland on Jan. 16, 1916, the son of Michael and Melvina (Theriault) Deabay. Henry was a graduate of Ashland High School, Class of 1933, and in his early years did farm work, woods cutting and clerking jobs. He entered the U.S. Army to serve in World War II, serving as a battery clerk, a battery supply sergeant and a battalion supply sergeant. He was relieved from active duty with the rank of 1st lieutenant and joined the reserves on Feb. 20, 1946. After being honorably discharged from the military, he went to work for Great Northern Paper Co., working in several capacities including clerking, safety supervisor and safety director for Woodlands Department. He then worked as a wood buyer in Houlton for five years and returning again to Millinocket to work as personnel supervisor at Woodlands. Henry worked a total of 34 1/2 years for Great Northern Paper Co. retiring in 1980. He was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, where he served on the Church Council and the Finance and Administration Commission. He also worked church beano for several years. Henry was a life member of Bernard Coro Post No. 22 DAV Medway, a Life Member of American Legion Post No. 80, and a member of VFW Post No. 4154. He was a Past Commander of American Legion Post No. 80, where he served as finance officer for several years. He served as a Past County Commander (Legion) for Aroostook County and a Past District Commander. He also did volunteer income tax work for the elderly for many years, was a volunteer for beano at the American Legion, and was a member of AARP. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Yvette (Russell) Deabay of Millinocket; four children, James Deabay, Robert and wife, Rose Deabay, Donna and husband, Eldon Doody, and Gail and husband, Michael, all of Millinocket; 10 grandchildren, Andrew and his fianc_e, Renee Dubois, Allison and her fianc_, Donovan Reed, Andrea and Aaron Doody, Rashell, Travis and Monica Deabay, Beth, Paul and Mark Rucci; one great-grandson, Justin; two sisters, Gertrude Berry of Presque Isle, Marie Flanders of Corinna; four brothers, Arthur Dubay of Sterling, Conn., Freeman Deabay of Ashland, Omer Deabay of Bristol, Conn., and Allen Deabay of Frankfort; several nieces and nephews. CORINNA – Marie Flanders, 80, died Oct. 31, 2008, at the Maine Veterans' Home, Bangor, with the love of her children surrounding her. She was born March 24, 1928, in Ashland, a daughter of Michael and Melvina (Theriault) Dubay. Marie married the love of her life, Hubert L. Flanders, June 29, 1946. He predeceased her Nov. 9, 2005. She had been employed at Snowflake Canning Co. until it burned, Eastland Woolen Mill, Nokomis Regional High and retired from Dexter Shoe Co., in 1992. She attended Corinna United Methodist Church and was a member of Corinna Post American Legion Auxiliary. Marie spent her life caring for her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time at camp in the summer months and holidays with her family. In addition to her husband, Marie was predeceased by five sisters, seven brothers; and a very special granddaughter, Emilie. She is survived by her four children, Susan and husband, Eddie York, of Clinton, Sally Flanders of Texas, Dana and wife, Valarie Flanders, of Plymouth and Amy and husband, Gary Fitch, of Jay; seven grandchildren, Kevin York and special friend, Amanda Hunnewell, Sarah and husband, Jeremy Viles, Ben Wintle and special friend, Shawn Johnson, Amanda and special friend, Nicholas Wark, Beth Flanders, Dustin Hargreaves and Kayla Fitch; three brothers, Freeman of Ashland, Omer and wife, Pauline, of Bristol, Conn., and Allen and wife, Sheila, of Bangor; many nieces, nephews and special friends at Sunshine Village. The joy in Marie's last days was brought to her through the compassion and care of the Maine Veterans' staff and her family. Private visitation will be held at Crosby & Neal Chapel, Corinna. A graveside funeral and committal service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna, with Pastor Grace Mazhandu, of Corinna United Methodist Church, officiating with assistance by the Rev. Sharon Lovejoy. There will be a time to share memories with the family immediately after the service at Corinna United Methodist Church with luncheon provided.
