"On the morning of Sept 15th [ed: sic, note that funeral is said to occur on the 11th], 1924, Donald MacQuarrie of DeSable, Prince Edward Island, passed away from the scenes of Earth to the fullness of the heavenly joys. He was the son of the late John MacQuarrie by his first wife Mary Campbell and was born at Rice Point, P.E. Island on April 15, 1834.
He married Isabella MacPhail daughter of the late Neil MacPhail of Agryle Shore. She preceded him some years.
Two sons John of Hebron, PEI and the Rev. Neil of Florida and one daughter Mrs. Mary MacNevin of DeSable survive him also one full sister Mary Campbell of Charlottetown and two half brothers, John MacQuarrie of Attleboro, Mass. and Donald MacQuarrie of Bordon, PEI and one half sister, Mrs. Flora Cook of Dorchester, Mass.
Mr. MacQuarrie had enjoyed exceptionally good health even up to a very short time before his departure from us. He was a zealous and devout member of the Church of Scotland and held the office of elder for many years. He had always been very attentive to his Christian duties, but his activities of late years were most wonderful for one of his age. Not only was he persent at all service within his home church at DeSable, but frequently travelled from Coleman to Murray River, visiting the different sections, and doing his part, in Worship and conversation, to bear testimony to the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. We miss his service and testimony now and we feel the need of such men. We are thankful, however, that there is a heavenly reward, and that the faithful are being gathered unto the perfect and clear glory of the joys and comforts, which the Christian live are received here as an earnest of the full inheritance.
The funeral services were conducted on September 11th by Rev. Ewen MacDougall assisted by Rev. M.J. MacPherson and Mr E.C. Robertson. The remains were interred in the family plot in Argyle Shore Cemetery.

EDITH FORD ARTZ
CASTINE - A beautiful lady beloved by her family and many friends, Edith "Edie" Artz passed away peacefully Sept. 14, 2005, at Blue Hill Hospital, after suffering a stroke. Edie was one of twin daughters (her twin being Fran Cooke, also of Castine) born May 25, 1920, in Attleboro, Mass., to Mary (Campbell) and Everett Ford. A descendent of a long line of "Mainers" and ever proud of her Maine heritage, she spent many of her summers as a child and young adult in the Campbell family home in Cherryfield and on Pond Island in Narraguagus Bay. A graduate of Walnut Hill School in Natick, Mass., where she grew up, Edie went on to study pre-med at Smith College and graduated in 1941, as did her sister Fran. After Smith, she studied nursing for a year at Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, before marrying Harvard Medical School student, Walt Goodale, who became a leading cardiologist. She worked as a medical laboratory technician in Boston during World War II before starting a family with Dr. Goodale, with the first of four children being born in 1945. After her marriage to Dr. Goodale ended in divorce in 1966, Edie worked as Dean of Students at Rosemary Hall School in Greenwich, Conn., and then at the Stockbridge School in Massachusetts. In 1968, she married prominent educator, Nat French, who headed Alamoosook Island Camp in Orland for years and skippered the schooner, "Alamar" out of Castine. Following Nat's death in 1983, Edie moved from Massachusetts to the house on Dresser Lane in Castine, where she lived the rest of her days. In 1987, she married fellow Castine resident John Artz, with whom she enjoyed sailing and traveling. In her waning years, Edie also developed her skills as an amateur artist. Edie Artz loved music and fine art, good food and fine wine, mountains and skiing, sailing and the Maine seacoast. Above all, though, she loved people, readily making and keeping many friends of all ages and from all walks of life. Quite a few "kids" called Edie "Mom", in addition to her four Goodale children: Rose, Steve, Zandy, and Pen, all of whom survive her as do her husband, John; and sister, Fran. The family plans to hold a celebration of Edie Artz's life next August in Castine, allowing more of her "kids" and grandchildren to participate. Moses served in the Civil War and was with General Sheridan at Shenandoah Valley. After the war he came back he married (Nancy) and was elected to the post of County Commissioner. He later was elected to Legislature (Republican ticket). He was postmaster with his wife (Evie) and served in many positions with the church for over 34 years. He was always allied with everything that pertained to benefit and uplift the interest of his town and community. His advice and council was sought after by young and old.
In 1872 Moses registered his sheep mark as "a crop off the right ear and a nick on the underside of the same ear".

Medway – Jeffery P. "Jeff" Campbell, 51, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 at his home in Medway.
He was born February 3, 1958 in Millinocket, the son of Phillip and Nedra (Warman) Campbell.
Jeff grew up in East Millinocket, graduating from Schenck High School, class of 1977. He was employed
by the Great Northern Paper Company in East Millinocket for 32 years. Jeff was a very talented and
patient man, traits which served him well as a craftsman of all kinds, either in wood or pen. He loved
spending time in his woodshop. Jeff was a member of the East Branch Sno Rovers where he worked many
hours as a groomer and was a Trailmaster. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and was a
historian, and enjoyed genealogy. Jeff will also be remembered as a loving husband and father. In addition
to his parents of East Millinocket, Jeff is survived by his wife, Amanda J. (Lyons) Campbell of Medway;
a daughter, Cynthia "Critta" Campbell and her special friend Justin Boucher of Manchester, New Hampshire;
three siblings, Collier Lester and her husband Steve of Atlanta, Georgia, Jon Campbell and his wife Stephanie
of Hermon, and Kelly York and her husband Noel ("Yorkie") of Medway; his father and mother in law, Carroll
and Priscilla Lyons of Medway; sisters and brothers in law, Diane Lyons of Hartland, Sam Lyons and his wife
Crystal of Woodville, Mary Grant and her husband Martin of Medway, Vicki Austin and her husband Mark of Medway, Dennis Lyons and his girlfriend Tina of Rochester, NH, Kristie Bouchard and her husband Ricky of Medway, Shelley Lee and her husband Tom of Medway, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jeff will also
be missed by his feline friend, Chummy. He was predeceased by a brother in law, Carroll Lyons, Jr. "See Ya!"
