General Notes: Husband - Johannes Theodorus Polemus
Reverend Johannes Theodorus Polhemius was born in 1598 in Boirkirchen, Switzerland (son of Johann Theodor Polhemius). He settled in the Palatine, Germany from 1625-1628. He lived in Meppel, Overyssel, Netherlands from 1628-1630. He married at this time to an unknown first wife. He had a daughter baptized in 1629 in the Netherlands. He returned to the Palatine, Germany and lived there from 1630-1635. He immigrated before October 1636, to Wholfstein, Rehnish, Bavaria. Hesailed on October 25, 1636 from Texel Harbor near Amsterdam, Holland and landed on Jan. 23, 1637 in Recif of Pernambuco, Brazil. He was in Olinda, Brazil from 1635-1645. He married in 1643 on Isle Itmarca, Brazil to Catharina Van Werven. He was a minister in Itamacus, Brazil from 1645-1654. The Dutch in Brazil were evacuated in 1654, when the country was surrendered to Portugal. In April 1654 he sailed to the Netherlands, on a ship which was captured by a Spanish privateer (or French Man-of-War). In 1654 he landed in New Amsterdam, age about 56, settling in Flatlands, Long Island, New York. He was the first regularly stationed minister of the Dutch on Long Island. When he came here, his wife did not accompany him. She went to Holland to seek collection of the money owed him by the Dutch West India Company. He was the minister in the church in Flatbush from1654-1665. He was the Founding Father of the First Reformed Church of Brokelynand served there until his death. In 1672, he owned property in Flatbush, LongIsland. He died June 9, 1676 in Flatbush, New York.

He enlisted as a Private at Waupacong, Indiana on 13 Aug 1862 in Capt. David P. Cubberly's Company "C" 12th Indiana Volunteer Infantry to serve three years duration. He served throughout that Regiment's campaigns until discharged as a corporal in Jun 1865.
In 1911, at Cherryvale, Kansas, Dr. Ford B. McBride was married to Miss Iva Witham of that city, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Witham, the later is deceased. Mr. Witham, who for many years was engaged in extensive agricultural pursuits, is now making his home at No. 285 East Fifth St, Cherryvale, being retired from active affairs.

married Matthew Thornton Jr, likely a descendant of Matthew Thornton, signer of
the Declaration of Independance. Benjamin Pomeroy received at least one land
grant in St. Andrews, New Brunswick (Charlotte Co.) as a Loyalist in 1783. He
may have received 2 grants of land there. Supposedly a sea captain, or mariner
during the period of the American Revolution. Son Benjamin (b. May 12, 1773)
was first settler and founder of Pomeroy Ridge, Charlotte Co. New Brunswick.
Benjamin was a Penobscot Loyalist during (after) the Revolution.

Perce) were married 13 Sep. 1763, by John Stinson, Justice of the Peace, in
Pownalborough, Maine.

Records show that George remarried after the death of his first wife. Second
wife's name was Ella Larrabee. George's first marriage intentions were filed on
Oct. 22, 1903 in Maine. His Social Security # was: 005-01-7181. He and his
family moved to Caribou Maine in 1934. Family members say he loved to get
together with his brothers or sisters, loved family get-togethers. He also
loved to watch baseball. Was a lumberman and a lumberman foreman in Maine.
Died of pulmonary embolism due to mesintis thrombosis due to partial chronic
intestinal obstruction. Accidentally shot himself in the hand, while in the
woods once, and that shot nicked him in the side of the head, near the ear, and
he was hard of hearing after that. Belonged to the Oddfellows. While living
in Stockholm Maine, whenever the town had a get-together or festival, they
would always ask George to make "beanhole beans".

retired, and he loved to play golf in his free time.
