Isaiah Jenkins Whitman resided at Skowhegan, Maine untill 1845, having learned the trade of carpenter and was for twelve years surveyor of lumber at Skowhegan. He was also the school agent for several years. In December 1849, he moved to Dover, New Hampshire and the following May, moved to Portsmouth, New Hampshire where he resided untill April 1854 when he moved to Boston, Massachusetts. He remained in Boston for nineteen years engaged as a locksmith and sawfitter. in April 1874 he moved to Belfast, Maine and remained there untill his death.

After the death of her husband in 1949, she moved to Dickvale to live
with her parents. Upon their deaths, she lived at West Peru Villiage and
with her sister, Mrs. Jenny Gammon in East Peru for a term ofyears,
before finally locating at the Muskie Building in Rumford. Died at the
Victorian Villa Nursing Home where she had been a resident for nearly 2
years. Prior to this, she was a resident of the Dixfield Health Care
Center.She lived at the Muskie Building in Rumford prior to her going
into the nursing homes.

He was a soldier in the war against the Rebellion, and was in seven
battles. The last of these, in which he was killed, was at Kenesaw
Mountain, in Central Georgia, June 27, 1864, he being not quite
twenty-two years ofage. Our loss in killed and wounded was full 8,000.+

He is survived by his wife, Amelia Mamie (Gorris) Willette of East Millinocket; one son, Frank J. of East Millinocket; one daughter Marie Mosca of Millinocket; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one brother, Guy of East Millinocket; one sister, Rena LaCourse of Brunswick; one stepbrother Clanence Rouleau of East Millinocket; several nieces and nephews.

She was born in East Millinocket on September 8, 1915, the daughter of Joseph Paul and Katherine (Karpavice) Gorris. She was the wife of the late Frank F. Willette who died in 1984. Amelia loved her family dearly. The family tradition was Christmas Eve at Nanny's house. Mamie loved listening to albums and 45's. She enjoyed reading, watching old movies, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. She was a great cook and enjoyed pampering her grandchildren at camp. She had a strong faith and always lit vigil candles for family and friends. She is survived by a son, Frank J. Willette of East Millinocket, a daughter, Marie Mosca and husband Robert of Millinocket, a sister, Helen Lappa and husband Joseph of Millinocket; her grandchildren, Robert M. Mosca and wife Diane, Diane and husband Tim Richard, Susan and husband Kevin Lathan, Lisa and husband Mark LeGassey, and Frank and wife Voula Willette; 10 great-grandchildren, Gina and Gabe Mosca, John and Alex LeGassey, Cara and Elizabeth Fraser, Shawn and Jenny Lathan, and Katina and Nicole Willette; three nieces and one nephew, and special friends.
