"Lieut. James Nash of Weymouth, shoemaker, appeared with a wife Alice, and was made a freeman of Massachusetts Bay Colony in May, 1645. He was a representative from Weymouth, 1665, 1666, and 1667. Administration of his estate was granted to his sons John Nash of Boston, cooper, and Jacob Nash of Weymouth, housewright, 31 Dec 1680."
George Walter Chamberlain, History of Weymouth, Boston, 1923
Robert Charles Anderson and Richard H. Benson concur that the Samuel Nash of Weymouth, shoemaker, was James Nash, and he was in Weymouth in 1641. James Nash appeared in the records of Weymouth when a description of his land was included on an undated list written between 26 Oct 1642 and 21 May 1644.
James and Alice lived alternately between Weymouth and Boston. He owned land in Boston as early as 1645, and on 7 Jun 1648 purchased a parcel of marsh land along Mill Creek there. Their home was on Hanover Street at Mill Creek. James owned a wharf 'on the East Side of Mill Creek near the bridge.' He owned a sloop and probably sailed it between Weymouth and Boston. AT one time he owned 29 acres of land in Braintree which was bought by John Whitman of Weymouth, and later sold in 1748. In 1650 James purchased lands including a house, garden and orchards from James Waterman in Marshfield, but sold part or all of it the next year. He sold someof his Boston property in 1654 and 1664, the year he purchased 20 acres of land north of the common in Weymouth from Edmund Hart. He continued to buy and sell land until the year of his death.
James was captain of the Weymouth militia, and he served as a representative from Weymouth to the General Court of Massachusetts in 1655 and from 1662 to 1667.89
On 1 Feb 1633 James married Alice Higgins, at Great Hampden, Buckinghamshire, Eng.89 Alice died aft 20 Apr 1680.
Richard H. Benson argues convincingly that the Alice who was James Nash's wife was not Alice Burges, the daughter of Robert and Alice Burges, who is frequently listed as the wife of James, but Alice Higgins.
Their children include:
1802 i. James (ca1634-)
1803 ii. John (ca1636-~1712)
1804 iii. Jacob (ca1640-1718)
1805 iv. Joseph (-1697)
1806 v. Sarah
1807 vi. Rebecca
1808 vii. Abigail (-1676)
1809 viii. Mary (ca1645-1723)
[Richard H. Benson, The Nash Family of Weymouth, Massachusetts, Newbury Street Press, Boston, 1998.]
General Notes: Child - James Nash
"James and Sarah lived in Weymouth, but may have also resided or owned property at times in Scituate and Boston. He operated a tide mill in Weymouth, known as "Nash's grist mill," located on Mill Cove on the east side of the Fore River. He operated a sloop that ran between Boston, Weymouth, and neighboring towns. James was a freeman in 1665, and town constable in 1685.89"

Millinocket - Doreen M. Monaco, 83, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at a Millinocket hospital. She was born September 5, 1926 in Millinocket, the daughter of Milton P. and Flora B. (Gaskin) Higgins. Doreen grew up in Millinocket, and married Restant P. "Peck" Monaco on January 8, 1949. Together they shared 46 years until his death in 1995. Doreen and Peck raised three daughters, whose accomplishments Doreen was very proud of, as well as those of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her family and spent a lot of time following all of their activities be it sports, arts, or school programs. Doreen greatly enjoyed her annual trips to Atlantic City with her "girls". When those trips were no longer possible, she found new pleasure in stopping in Bangor for an hour or so of "fun". She was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Millinocket, and was one of the original workers at the St. Martin of Tours Thrift Shop. She worked there for many years and was very passionate about making it a success. In her spare time, she enjoyed beano and crocheting. Doreen is survived by her three daughters, Sheila DiCentes and her husband Paul, Carolyn Arey, and Linda Leavitt and her husband Ricky, all of Millinocket; five grandchildren, Tony DiCentes, Jonathan DiCentes and his wife Erica, Terri Lynn Dorr and her husband Scott, Kristen Smith and her husband James, and Jamie Leavitt; four great grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, Katie, and McKenna; a sister, Imogene Mason of Millinocket; and a special friend, Tina Morrison; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and her husband, Doreen was predeceased by two brothers Hanley and Philip Higgins. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 A.M. Thursday, May 21 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Doreen may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462, or to the Food Pantry at St. Martin of Tours, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, ME 04462. GEORGE FROST RICHARDSON, eldestson of Elisha and Dorothy (Frost)
Richardson; b. about 1591; m. Hannah Higgins, otherwise Anna, of
Limington, Me., May 30, 1816. In the record of his marriage he is said
to be of Limington.
He resided in Brunswick, Me. He was amanufacturer and dealer in
lumber. He sometimes transacted business in New Orleans. He is in one
deed said to be of Topsham; it was before he went to Brunswick. [Lincoln
Deeds, 1xxxiv, 247.]
George F. Richardson of Brunswick,in 1838, sold to Elisha Richardson,
of Falmouth (his father), about thirty acres of land in Falmouth, on the
west side of Presumscot River. [Cumb. Deeds, clxx. 60.]
In 1846, Isaac Richardson, his cousin, son of David and Rufus Mosher,
whose wife was a dau. of said Isaac, both of Gorham, Me., as admin. of
the estate of George F. Richardson, sold to Nahum Perkins a piece of land
and a mill-privilege, with the buildings thereon, on the east side of
Chandler's Stream, in Durham, it being the same that said George F.
conveyed to ElishaRichardson in 1840 (Cumb. Deeds, cxcviii, 186.]
It apprears, therefore, that George F. Richardson died previous to

61. She was many years a member of the Congregational Church in
Topsham., Me.,
