Henry de Percy, 3rd Lord Percy, of Alnwick, who, in the lifetime of his
father, had participated in the glories of Crecy (28 August, 1346). His
lordship married 1st, in her ladyship's fourteenth year, Lady Mary
Plantagenet, daughter of Henry Earl of Lancaster, which Henry was son of
Edmund, Earl of Lancaster, Leicester, &c., 2nd son of King Henry III. By
this alliance, his lordshiphad two sons, Henry, his successor, and
Thomas. His lordship married 2ndly, Joan, daughter and heiress of John de
Orreby, of Lincolnshire, one of the barons in the reign of Edward III, by
whom he left one daughter, Mary, who married John, Lord Ros, of Hamlake,
but d. s. p. in 1395. He died 17 June, 1368, and was succeeded by his
elder son, Henry de Percy, 4th Lord Percy of Alnwick.

D'après Placide Gaudet, le normand Philippe Mius avait des affinités avec la famille Bourbon et fut créé sieur d'Entremont par Louis XIV ; mais d'après un descendant, H. Léandre d'Entremont, les titres de noblesse remonteraient au xie siècle, en Savoie, et une branche de la famille savoyarde aurait émigré en Normandie au, cours du xvie siècle. En 1649, le sieur d'Entremont épousait Madeleine Hélie (ou Élie) Du Tillet, née en 1626. Il était alors capitaine dans un régiment. C'est en 1650 (Coll. de manuscrits relatifs à la Nouv.-France, II : 329) ou 1651 (R. Le Blant) qu'il fut amené en Acadie avec son épouse et une fille par le nouveau gouverneur, Charles de Saint-Étienne de La Tour, un ami d'enfance, comme lieutenant-major et commandant des troupes du roi. Pour le récompenser de ses services, La Tour, par des lettres patentes, en 1651 ou 1653, offrait à d'Entremont le fief Pobomcoup à titre de baronnie. Les droits féodaux conféraient au baron un territoire s'étendant du cap Nègre au cap Fourchu (Yarmouth, N.-É.). Le château féodal fut érigé près de l'entrée du havre naturel de Pobomcoup, du côté est.
D'Entremont joua un rôle important dans l'histoire de la colonie soit par ses fonctions administratives, soit du fait qu'il fut l'un des rares seigneurs acadiens à s'occuper de culture et de défrichement ; il attira sur son domaine < plusieurs engagés et quelques familles de Port-Royal, et cette seigneurie finit par former un petit centre de population >.
Outre leur fille qu'ils avaient amenée de France, les d'Entremont donnèrent naissance à quatre enfants en terre acadienne : deux des fils, Jacques, né en 1659, et Abraham, de Plemazais (ou Plemarch), né en 1661 ou 1662, épousèrent les filles du >gouverneur Charles de La Tour et de Jeanne Motin, Anne et Marguerite ; le troisième fils, Philippe, dont la vie est plus difficile à retracer, épousa en 1707 une fille de Jean-Vincent d'Abbadie de Saint-Castin. Quant aux filles, Marie-Marguerite, née en France, épousa Pierre Melanson, dit La Verdure [V. Charles Melanson] ; et il semble que l'autre, Madeleine, soit restée célibataire.
Vers 1670, au moment où le traité de Bréda était mis en vigueur, le gouverneur d'Andigné de Grandfontaine s'établissait à Pentagouet (sur la Penobscot). D'Entremont fut nommé procureur du roi, charge qu'il exerça pendant 18 ans malgré son âge avancé. On connaît des rapports de Mius d'Entremont et de Jacques Bourgeois sur les frontières de l'Acadie qui furent envoyés au ministre Pontchartrain par Joseph Robinau de Villebon. Vers la fin de sa vie, d'Entremont quitta son domaine seigneurial, léguant le titre de baron de Pobomcoup à son aîné, Jacques, et vint s'établir à Port-Royal avec son épouse et deux de ses enfants. Vénérable patriarche, il décédait à la fin de 1700 ou au début de 1701, âgé de plus de 90 ans. D'après la tradition, c'est à Port-Royal qu'il mourut, mais Léandre d'Entremont indique plutôt comme lieu du décès Grand-Pré, où il se serait retiré chez sa fille Marie-Marguerite Melanson. Philippe Mius d'Entremont a laissé en Acadie une nombreuse postérité ; la baronnie de Pobomcoup resta à la famille jusqu'à la dispersion des Acadiens ; et, après plus de trois siècles, on compte encore à Pubnico une centaine de familles du même nom.

Philippe Mius d'Entremont (vers 1609 - 1700)
Le lieutenant-major et commandant des troupes du roi, Charles de Saint-Étienne de La Tour, invite Philippe Mius d'Entremont à l'accompagner en Acadie lors du voyage qu'il effectue en 1651. Il le nomme major-général et lui remet la baronnie de Pobomcoup (Pubnico, N.-É.) en 1653. En plus d'être la seule baronnie en Acadie, elle est héréditaire.
Pendant l'occupation anglaise qui dure jusqu'en 1667, peu d'informations sont disponibles au sujet du sieur d'Entremont. En 1670 toutefois, il est nommé procureur du roi de France en Acadie, fonction qu'il exerce pendant 18 ans. Le recensement de 1671 permet aussi de constater qu'il réside à Pobomcoup avec son épouse Madeleine Hélie, quatre enfants et qu'il possède six arpents de terre, 26 bêtes à cornes, 29 brebis, 12 chèvres et 20 cochons.
Puisque ses fonctions exigent qu'il accompagne le gouverneur lors de ses déplacements, lui et sa famille doivent déménager à plusieurs reprises dans les années qui suivent : à Port-Royal en 1678, à Beaubassin l'année suivante (sous la gouverne de La Vallière) et à Port-Royal en 1684 (alors que Perrot est nommé gouverneur). Pendant toutes ces années, son fils aîné Jacques s'occupe de ses établissements à Pubnico. Finalement, en 1687, Philippe Mius d'Entremont se retire alors qu'il est âgé de 86 ans. Il s'installe à Grand-Pré où il réside jusqu'à sa mort en 1700.
