EAST MILLINOCKET \endash Dr. Frank Mario Civiello, beloved husband of the late Mary Avis Pheeney Civiello, passed away peacefully April 20, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born April 29, 1922, in Millinocket, the son of Dennis and Carmella Primiano Civiello.
He was one of 12 children and grew up in the neighborhood of "Little Italy," of which he was so grateful and proud. After graduating from Stearns High School and attending business school in Worcester, Mass., Frank served on the USS Enterprise and USS Lexington during World War II, out of the entire Pacific Theater, Air Group 20 received the Presidential Citation while he was aboard the Lexington. After the allied victory, he resumed his studies at Ricker College, Houlton, and he continued on to earn his graduate degree from Georgetown University Dental School, Washington, D.C., in 1952 . Frank opened his practice in East Millinocket and happily served the community for 55 years, retiring at the age of 85. Frank was an Eucharistic Minister and Lector at St. Peters Catholic Church as well as a Catechism teacher for more than 40 combined years. He was a founding member and past president of East Millinocket/Medway Chamber of Commerce, a 4th Degree Knight and past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus, and a proud member of Pitch Club, Elks Club and Hillcrest Golf Club. Frank built his family's beautiful cedar log camp with views of Mount Katahdin on the shores of Ambajejus Lake for his wife and children to enjoy. It was at camp that Frank and his wife, Mary, hosted family reunions for many years. He established the Civiello Invitational, a week long golf trip, in order for his family to enjoy time together every summer.
Frank was predeceased by his son, Frank Jr.; stepsons, Roderick and Thomas Pound; brothers, Joseph, Louis, Michael and Father John Civiello; and sisters, Frances Rush, Pauline Rush and Antoinette Kelley. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen Adlerstein of Freeport; sons, Anthony of Millinocket, Samuel of South Sanford and Mark of Portland; brother, Charles of Stuart, Fla.; sisters, Mary Thompson of Rocky Hill, Conn., Lillian Bolduc of Portland and Ann Ouellette of Auburn; grandchildren, Kristen, Aaron, Julie, Ellis and Jocelyn Maxwell and Ava; and great-grandchild, Francesca.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a prayer service, by the Knights of Columbus, will be said at 7:30p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, with Monsignor Paul Stefanko as presiding priest at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket. PORTLAND – The Rev. John D. Civiello died Dec. 1, 2006, at St. Joseph's Manor. He was born June 19, 1939, in Millinocket, a son of Dennis and Carmella (Primiano) Civiello. He attended Millinocket schools and was a graduate of Stearns High School. During his junior year he attended Boy's State. He participated in football and basketball receiving All State in both sports. He graduated from MCI and St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Fr. John pursued his studies for the priesthood at St. John's Seminary, Brighton, Mass. After ordination he served as Chaplain at Mercy Hospital, Portland; St. Mary's parish, Bangor; St. Anne's parish, Old Town; St. Mary's parish, Westbrook; and the last 16 years at St. Patrick's Parish, Portland. He was also a Chaplain for Mercy Hospital, Maine Medical Center and the Correctional Institutions, the Maine Air National Guard, Bangor; the Knights of Columbus, Westbrook; and the Northern Chapter of the Italian Heritage. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Joseph, Louis and Michael; sisters, Frances Rush, Pauline Rush and Nita Kelley. He is survived by brothers, Dr. Frank Civello of East Millinocket, Charles Civiello of Ocala, Fla.; sisters, Mary Thompson of Rocky Hill, Conn., Lillian Bolduc of Portland, Ann Ouellette of Auburn and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Rev. Coleman O'Toole for his kindness and caring attention toward their brother John during his years at St. Patrick's and since his retirement. They also wish to thank Dr. Jabbar Fazeli and the nurses and staffs of Seaside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and St. Joseph's Manor for their excellent care for Fr. EAST MILLINOCKET – It is with great sadness that the family of Mary A. Civiello announces her passing after a brief illness Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, surrounded by her family, at home. She was born Oct. 26, 1922, in Millinocket, the daughter of Charles A. and Elsie (Dumas) Pheeney. She spent the first 12 years of her life in Toronto, Canada, being cared for by her loving grandparents. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Dr. Frank M. Civiello of East Millinocket; her children, Anthony Civiello of Millinocket, Mary Ellen Civiello of Portland, Sam and Nicole Civiello of Wells, and Mark and Elizabeth Civiello of Portland; seven grandchildren, Kristen, Aaron, Julie, Ellis, Jocelyn, Maxwell Mario and Ava; and a great-granddaughter, Francesca; two sisters, Thalia Schmiedeshoff of Trumbull, Conn., and June Ryder of Portland; an aunt, Rita Macdonald of Toronto, Canada, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three sons, Thomas and Roderick Pound, and Frank M. Civiello Jr. Mary worked with her husband for many years, as well as raising her children and caring for the home. She cherished her summers on Ambejejus Lake at her cottage, "Mary's Palace." She was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine at St. Peter's Catholic Church. She was active with Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann's Circle, Ceramic Club, Women's Pitch Club and hosted many family reunions at camp. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a rosary service will be held 7:30 by the Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann's Circle. She was an apprentice for 15 years for Speeds Insurance Agency, later became owner with her husband of Joe & Mary's Restaurant and then opened the Heritage Motor Inn, all in Millinocket. Massachusetts man latest snowmobile fatality

ASHLAND, Maine - Another person died as a result of a snowmobile accident in the state on Monday morning, making the individual the fifth snowmobile-related fatality in less than three days.
Deborah Turcotte, acting public relations representative for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, said Monday afternoon that Philip Voisine, 40, of Danvers, Mass., was killed at approximately 9:30 Monday morning in a single sled snowmobile accident.
The victim, who was traveling with nine other snowmobilers, had just left the Ashland Motor Lodge, according to Turcotte.
He was traveling on ITS 88 near the Ashland-Castle Hill town line and was fourth or fifth in the line of sleds on the 13-foot-wide trail.
Voisine failed to negotiate a left turn and hit a tree, according to Maine Warden Service Sgt. Brian Gray.
He was wearing a helmet.
Gray said imprudent speed for existing conditions may have been a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
Note: His Father Elmer told him not to go on this trip. Said he had a family now and it was time to settle down and stop the risk taking. Cause Philip use to race motor cycles.

Philip S. Voisine
Philip Scot Voisine, 40, of Danvers, died March 3, 2008, in a snowmobile accident in Ashland, Maine. He was the loving husband of Lisa (Welsh) Voisine.
Born in Danvers, April 29, 1967, he was the son of Elmer and Fay (Clark) Voisine.
He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1986.
Mr. Voisine owned and operated All Around Property Maintenance and Construction, the business he started 12 years ago and worked hard to make it the success that it is today.
A lifelong Danvers resident, he was an avid sportsman and was a member of the Seven Lakes Snowmobile Club. He loved spending time at his lake house, especially with family and friends.
Mr. Voisine was a loving husband and father and was dedicated to his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his 11-year-old daughter, Laura Sydney Voisine, a fifth grader at Thorpe School and his 2-year-old son, Travis Scot Voisine; a brother, Bruce Voisine and his wife, Jeanie, of Texas; two sisters, Bonnie Tuck and her husband, Michael, of Tennessee and Kristie Hardin and her husband, Brett, of Danvers; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lenny and Sunny Welsh of Middleton; and a loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and so many great friends.
He was predeceased by a sister, Kim Voisine.
His funeral service will be celebrated Friday, March 7, at 11 a.m. in the Calvary Episcopal Church, corner of Holten and Cherry streets, Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday, March 6, 4-8 p.m. at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
