General Notes: Husband - Arthur Drouin
BIO:Arthur lived on the family farm until about l939/40. He then moved
to the Village and bought a house across from the parish church.
Next to the Montmagny house. He no longer farmed but was a hired
hand working for various farmers. Arthur died of cancer, and is
burried in the parish cemetery of St Gilles (family plot with his
grandfather and father. The family farm was located approx five
miles from the village, on right side of the road, going to
St Patrice. It is still there, on the road to St Patrice. Arthur
when the children were 8/10 years old moved to Biddeford, Maine to
work in the Mills. He returned to St Gilles after 3/4 years. however, he
always kept close touch with Biddeford, and as a matter of fact looked after one of his wife's sisters, child, Noel, for a number of year, in Canada and in the States.
General Notes: Wife - Cordelia Rheaume
Cordelia was born in St Bernard and is buried in the parish cemetery of St Gilles de Lobtbiniere with her husband Arthur. She had many sisters who had moved to Bideford, Maine. Cordelia always prided herself of having the best vegetable garden in the village of St Gilles, and was head at one time of the local ladies society.
General Notes: Child - Alonzo Joseph Arthur Drouin
BIO:Alonzo left the village early. He became at first a lineman for the
Quebec Power Corp. He then moved to Quebec City and learned the
trade of Barber. He was self-employed on Victoria St in Quebec City
until 1939/40. He then started to drive his own cab and did this
until his dead. However, in the mid-Forty, he formed a taxi company
(55191) and was its vice-president for a number of years. He then
resigned in early Fifty and formed another company called Lucerne
Taxi which operated from the Bus Depot. He was President of this
company until he died in 1967. He continued to drive a cab a few
days a week (he loved it). He loved race cars and was one of the
first one from the Quebec City area to go to Indianpolis every year
for several years in a row. He also sponsored stock car racing in the
area and as far away as Sorel. He had a car and driver do the racing
for him. He raced motor boats, motocycle and planes; anything that
was powerful and fast. He died at his cottage in St Catherine
outside Quebec City on Sunday 13 Aug 67. He is burried at the cemetery of
Beaumont, in Quebec City.
General Notes: Child - Aime Drouin
BIO:Aime settled at first around the St Gilles area, where he sold p
product for the FAMILEX company. He then moved to the village of
St Narcisse de Lobiniere, where he opened up a General Store which
he operated until the early fifty. Due to illeness he then spend
a couple of years in Florida. He came back to Canada and opened up
a grocery store in Laval where he continue to work for a number of
years. Finally he settled in Fort Myers Florida where he founded
a Kitchen/Window manufacture, which he ran with his son Lionel and
Andre as well as his wife Cecile. He eventually sold his interest
in the manufacture to Lionel. He died in Canada and is burried in
the local parish cemetery in St Gilles.

General Notes: Husband - Charles Drouin
This family had moved to Winslow, Maine area from Beauceville. However, it appear Charles went back to the Beauce area around 1922, bought a farm and lost it, during the depression around 1935. His wife Josephine died at age 42 after having had 10 children.
The source for this information is Paul Drouin of Winslow, Maine. One of his grandson.
Charles lived to be 99 years old.
General Notes: Child - Roland Joseph Drouin
After leaving school, and working on the farm of his father as well as going to work for various lumber companies in the wood in the winter, Roland moved to Lewiston, Maine , working in South Porland until 1942. He enlisted in the US Army at age 21 on 16 Sep 1942. He trained in Wahington state and Oregan, came back to New York and was sent to Europe on the Queen Mary. He was discharge in Massachusetts on 1 Jul 1946.
Roland worked as a local mechanic until 1974 when he was hired as a Millwright at local Scott Paper mill. He received his his High school diploma at age 53. He now devide his time between Brandenton, Florida and Winslow.
