Version # 1 :
Jean-Claude Landry, est originaire de La Ventrouze, en Mortagne, au Perche. Il arrive vers la fin de 1640, en compagnie deses deux enfants, dont on ignore le nom de l'épouse. René Landry, né en 1618, et Antoinette Landry, née en 1620, àLa Ventrouze. Jean-Claude Landry est aussi accompagné de sa nouvelle épouse, marié en 1625, Marie Sallé, veuve de Martin Aucoin, et des enfants Aucoin, dont Michelle Aucoin, née en 1618, qui épouse en 1641, Michel Boudrot, qui a aussi un lien dedescendance dans cette généalogie.
L'aîné René Landry, né en 1618, épouse à Port-Royal vers 1644, Perrine Bourg, née en 1626, originaire du Loudunois, sœur d'Antoine Bourg, né vers 1609, mariédepuis 1636, à sa sœur Antoinette Landry, née en 1620. Des cinq enfants du couple Perrine Bourg et René Landry, deux filles nous tissent des rameaux. L'aînée, Marie ou Marie-Henriette Landry, née en 1648, à Port-Royal, épouse en 1667, Lawrence-Laurent Granger, matelot, originaire de Plymouth en Angleterre. La deuxième Landry, Magdeleine, née en 1656, épouse en 1680, à Port-Royal, René Richard, sieur de Beaupré, né en 1657, fils de l'ancêtre originaire du Saintonge, Michel Richard, dit Sansoucy et de Magdeleine Blanchard. Après le décès de René Richard, Magdeleine Landry épouse en 1693, Pierre Dupuis.
Avant d'arriver en Acadie, Jean-Claude Landry et Marie Sallé, ont eu au moins un fils, nommé aussi René Landry, le cadet, qui le différencie de René Landry, l'aîné, son demi-frère.René (le cadet), né en 1634, épouse vers 1659, Marie Bernard, née en France, fille d'André Bernard, homme de La Tour, et d'Andrée Guion. Une fille de René Landry et Marie Bernard nous tisse aussi un autre rameau au Landry. Marie Landry,née en 1670, à Grand Pré, devient l'épouse en 1686, de Martin Dupuis, né à Port-Royal, en 1665, fils de Michel Dupeux, dit Dupuis et de Marie Gautherot.
L'aïeule Marie Sallé décède entre 1686-1693.
L'étymologie du nom Landry est d'origine germanique, Landrik (nation ou terre - puissante). Il y a plusieurs variations du noms comme : Landre, Landru et Landron.

Le professeur Stephen White du Centre d'études acadiennes de l'Université de Moncton, indique qu'il n'y a aucune preuve que Jean-Claude Landry et Marie Salle sont les parents de René Landry. Le nom de Jehan Claude (John Clause) est inscritàquelques reprises aux registres de Port-Royal en tant qu'amérindien Micmac.
Stephen White est en train de refaire la généalogie complète desacadiens et ne nomme aucuns parents, ni origines pour les René Landry. D'ailleurs, il semblerait qu'ils ne sont même pas parents.
Il y explique qu'il n'y a aucune documentation spécifique pour prouver que les ancêtres Landry acadiens sont originaires de LaChaussée, même s'il reconnaît qu'une majorité des premierscolons d'Acadie, venaient du Loudunois et qu'habitaient de nombreux Landry dans les environs de LaChaussée au 17ème siècle, mais là, aucune certitude que lesLandry d'Acadie ne viennent de cette région.
La tæhe d'établir la descendance des Landry d'Acadie est très difficile à établir. Les chercheurs ont établis qu'il y avait deux René Landry établis en Acadie. Quelques recherches ont trouvé un René Landry natif de Lachaussée en tant que fondateur du clan en Acadie. Il est né en 1618 et est arrivé en 1640 et là, il a marié Perrine Bourg.
Les recherches démontrent que l'autre René Landry, est né en 1634, probablement à Martiaze ou à Loudon, en France. Ses parents sont inconnus. On croit qu'il a épousé une Marie Bernard en 1659, en France. Il est arrivé en Acadie, la meme année.Quelques chercheurs ont essayé de joindre les deux René comme père et fils. D'autres enregistrements acadiens les citent comme René L'aîné et René Le Jeune ou le Cadet.
Cependant, il faut se questionner sur plusieurs faits. René l'aînéest né en 1618, tandis que René Le Cadet naissait
