14 days. [Gravestone.] Second, Samuel Walker, born in Woburn, Jan. 25,
1667-8, son of Dea. Samuel Walker, who was son of Samuel, who came with
his father, Richard Walker, from England in 1630 and settled in Lynn.
James Fowle, the first husband, was a selectman of Woburn in 1693 and
1694, also 1700 to 1714 when he died. He was also a captain in the
trainbands.

JAMES RICHARDSON, son of Capt. James Richardson by his second wife,
Elizabeth Arnold; born in Woburn, March 14, 1703-4; married, Sept. 24,
1728, Sarah Fowle, born in Woburn, July 29, 1703, dau. of Capt. James and
Mary Richardson Fowle.
They lived in Woburn some years, and three of their children were born
there. They removed to Leominster about 1735; it was the north-west part
of Lancaster till its incorporation in1740. They lived in the north
part of Leominster, at the intersection of the Harvard and Lunenburg
roads, a little beyond where the old Methodist Churchhas since stood.
It has been known as the Polley Place.
James Richardson, then of Woburn, yeomand, and wife Sarah sold to James
Dolbear, brazier, of Boston, one original right of a soldier who served
in the Narraganset war [1675], which the grantor bought of Shubael
Gorham, Est., of Barnstable. This deed was acknowledged by James and
Sarah Richardson, Oct. 29, 1735. [York Deeds, xxxiv.93.]
In Leominster he commenced a farm on a piece of new land and cleared it
up himself. He was surveyor of highways, 1745.
According to the bestinformation, he died in 1748. According to
another account, he fell backwards down some cellar stairs, 1761, and
broke his neck.

JOHN RICHARDSON; born in Leominster, July 18, 1741; married, Dec. 12,
1765, Eunice Green, born Nov. 19, 1743, dau.of peter and Abigail Green.
They settled in Petersham after marriage, but removed back to
Leominster before 1771, and passed the remainder of life there.He was a
yeoman. He was a capable man, and like his brothers much occupied with
town affairs. He was surveyor of highways, 1780 and 1781, or ten years
in the whole, and town clerk from 1782 to 1791, both inclusive, ten years.
He died at Leominster, Feb. 13, 1814, in his seventy-third year. His
will is dated July 21, 1809; proved May 17, 1814. His widow Eunice died
in Leominster, March 2, 1831, aged 87.

John Fowler married Mary, daughter of John Hubbard, probably as early as1646, and while they both were resident in Milford. He probably came toGuilford about the same time as his father-in-law, and bought the placewhich had belonged to Francis Bushnell the elder, and which he haddescended to his daughter Rebecca. The purchase was probably made earlyin 1647. On June 15, 1649, John Fowler was chosen one of the threeoverseers of the highways and Townsmen. From 1661 to 1665 he was aDeputy in Plantation Court. He was then made a freemen on May 30, 1650,and was chosen Marshal of the Plantation on June 10, 1652. On may 26,1658 at New Haven, he was appointed collector of the customs and excise.He was chosen Deputy of the General Court at New Have in 1661, 1663, and1664 and was 27 times delegate to the General Court at Hartford after theunion of the Colonies. He was chosen one of the first Deacons of theChurch in Guilford, being chosen between 1662 and 1665. For his servicesto the Colony, he was given by the Colony 100 acres in Cochin-Chang, nowDurham. In 1672 his list was ?160.7.0, the largest in the town ofGuilford. He died on September 14, 1676, wife died April 13, 1716, 6children.

Honorable Abraham Fowler of Guilford, was a Joiner, and nine timesrepresented Guilford in the General Assembly. He served as a sergeant inKing Phillip's War, and was given ?4 from Conn. in October 1678 onaccount of the wounds received by him from the enemy in the Country'sservice. (Conn. Col. Rec. 111,18.)
He was an assistant in the Colony, from 1712 to 1719; and was also one ofthe Justices of New Haven County Court, in which position he wasdistinguished for his "firmness and good judgement". His home lot of 5acres was on the "Common Green". He was a Captain of the Militia, in1716 his list was ?336.14.6. He married August 29, 1677 Elizabeth,daughter of Deacon George Bartlett of Guilford. She died October 4,1742. 8 children.

Wife's name was JohannaHarman as we learn from hi will, as he speaks of his wife's brother,Thomas Harman, also mentions his brother Richard Fowler of Stonehouse whowas considerably younger than himself. He speaks of lands he owns inSalop, Derby, Bucks, Berks, and Glouchester; mentions the followingchildren: Thomas, son and heir, William, Giles, Henry, Francis, Roger,Katharine, Alice, Elizabeth, and Agnes, also wife Johanna.
