General Notes: Husband - William Freethy
William Freehy may have arrived in the 'Speedwell' in 1635, at age 2 3, to Richmond Island in the employ of Trelawney, although I can find no r ecord of this passage.
William and a brother, Alexander, were curing fish in Scarborough in 163 7, apparently under a three year contract to a master. He left there befo re 1640, returning to Plymouth, where he married Elizabeth Barker. By 16 41 he was living at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where, in 1643, he was "cal led up for not leading an orderly life".
By Nov 1652, he appeared in York, Maine where he signed the Submissio n. He was granted a lot on Ferry Neck and was living there as late as Apri l, 1688. He was fined for drunkenness in 1667. He became ferryman in 16 84 "over the other side of the River where John Stover once lived." In 16 81 and 1683 he deeded most of his real estate and housing to his three son s.

Millinocket - Henry J. Barker, Jr., 89, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 at a Millinocket hospital. He was born November 28, 1919 in Millinocket, the son of Henry J. and Sarah Lucy (Martin) Barker, Sr. Henry enlisted in the Army National Guard on November 15, 1938 and was called up for active duty during World War II. He served with the 124th Regiment in the Pacific Theater. Henry was discharged at the rank of SSGT on July 14, 1945 and continued in the National Guard until retiring in 1979 as a Chief Warrant Officer. Henry joined the workforce as an accountant for the Great Northern Paper Company, retiring in 1979 after 44 years of service. He married Catherine McCluskey in July of 1945. Together they shared 23 years until her passing in 1968. He then married Priscilla Picard-Waite in March of 1970, and they have remained together since. Henry loved music, and played the keyboard with skill. In his younger years, he would play his collection of music for his friends and neighbors in "the flats" in Millinocket with a speaker system he put together himself. He was active with local sporting activities, coaching the East Millinocket Giants Little League for several years. As a young man, he was among the many volunteers who helped search for Donn Fendler. Henry belonged to the Donald V. Henry Post #80, American Legion and the Francis E. Elliott Post #4154, V.F.W., both of Millinocket. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Priscilla Barker of Millinocket; two children, Gilda Stratton of Millinocket, and Jamey Barker of East Millinocket; eight step children, Nancy Scully and her husband Jeff of Saco, Jan Waite of Bath, Billie Farley and her husband Russell of Woodville, Allan Waite of Bath, Kent Waite and his wife Julie of Medway, Leslie Waite and his wife Sharon of Medway, Ross Waite of East Millinocket, and Robbie Waite of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Jonathan, Kristine, Taylor, Bethany, Ryan, Jessica, Angela, Aaron, Traci, Jordan, Abbey, Hannah, Wilson, Karlie, Kaley, Kristy, Cynthia, and Alicia; two great grandchildren, Kiersten and Jocelyn; two sisters, Margaret Gallant and Thelma Malone, both of Dahlonega, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dr. Jean Lartier of Paris, France was an english sympathizer and anglicized his name to John Larlee on his move to Canada.
LARLEE
Reputed to be the first settlers of the village of Perth. The Larlees settled "Larlee Creek" area.(There is a cemetery there that is known as the Larlee Creek Cemetary. There are 5 generations buried there. We always visited it when we
were in the area. Which we were alot.) (continuing on); A doctor who in 1765 resided in Maugerville, Sunbury Co. soon moved to Burton to escape Spring floods. His wife Margaaret was the daughter of Jacob Baker, another Pre-Loyalist. In
1788, Dr. Larlee moved to Northampton Parish, Carleton County, but traveled extensively up and down the St. John river to help the sick and injured. He probably settled at Larlee Creek, about 1800, where it is believed his house served as a
mail-depot. Dr. John died c.1814.
