Butterfield, b. Sept. 23, 1701, dau. of Benjamin and Sarah Butterfield.
Benjamin Butterfield was one of the founders of Chelmsford.
In his Will, dated march 21, 1776--the day before he died--he styles
himself "gentleman," and gives to wife Sarah the free use and improvement
of all his household goods, furniture, and live stock during her natural
life, and directs that what ever may remain after her death be "divided
equally between all my daughters, or their heirs." He also makes a
bequest to his grandson Paul Richardson[son of his son Josiah].
He died March 22, 1776, aged 80. His widow, Sarah, died Aug. 11, 1788,
aged 88. [Gravestone.]
They had in all twelve children, all born in Chelmsford. The names of
two are wanting.

ELLSWORTH \endash Helen Butts, 100, died Sept. 11, 2005, at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born July 4, 1905, in Salem, Mass., the daughter of John and Theresa (Bick) Potas. Helen was married to Louis C. Butts who predeceased her. They spent most of their lives in the Ellsworth area where they raised their family, attended St. Joseph Catholic Church and shared a life together at their home on Hancock Street. Helen's life was devoted to her family and home and she derived a great deal of pleasure working in her garden. She will be greatly missed by her sons and grandchildren who enjoyed her wit and tender care. She is survived by two sons, Donald, of Ellsworth and Charles, of Brunswick; three granddaughters, Dr. Cheryl Sanfacon, of Phildelphia, Pa., Stephanie Butts, of Atlanta, Ga., and Lissa Merrill, of West Paris; one grandson, Michael Butts, of Scarborough; two great-grandsons, Sam Butts, of Scarborough, and Lincoln Merrill, of West Paris

East Millinocket and Wellsville, NY, Elaine Paradzsik, 73, passed away Friday, March 04, 2005 at a South Carolina Hospital. She was born in Waterville, Maine on March 11, 1931, the daughter of Dr. Basil and Doris (Stainsby) O'Grady. Elaine was the first woman to be senior buyer at Copes Vulcan Company in Erie, Pennsylvania. She loved to travel, especially to Myrtle Beach, her favorite destination. Elaine lived in East Millinocket until 1973, when she relocated to Fairview, PA. In 1994, she moved to Wellsville, NY, where she has resided since. Elaine is survived by her husband, Steve Paradzsik of Wellsville; two children, Michael Butts of Portland and Cheryl Sanfacon and her husband Dennis of Ardmore, Pennsylvania; one grandson, Samuel Butts; one step-daughter, Trudy DeMarte and her husband Larry; two step-sons, Eric and David Demarte; her sister, Barbara Drew; and her brother, Don O'Grady. She was predeceased by her first husband Merrill G. Butts in 1964. Friends may call at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Avenue, East Millinocket from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2005. Burial will be at East Millinocket Cemetery in the spring.

If the ones disputing it are correct, then this Robert Howard was not the son of Thomas Howard and Margaret Douglas, and the line will not trace back to King Henry VII. The information will have to be changed.
