DELMONT C. 'DUNK' MCDUNNAH
DELMONT C. 'DUNK' MCDUNNAH EAST MILLINOCKET - Delmont C. "Dunk" McDunnah, 73, died unexpect-edly Oct. 17, 2002, at a local hospital. He was born in East Millinocket, May 31, 1929, the son of Linwood C. and Rose M. (Dempsey) McDunnah. Dunk attended Schenck High School and later enlisted into the U.S. Army. Following his basic training, he served in Korea where he was part of the 17th Infantry. Following his discharge from the armed services, and during the summer of 1949, he attended Coburn Classical Institute in Waterville. While at Coburn Classical Institute, he played basketball. Following his education, he moved back to East Millinocket where he worked for Great Northern Paper Company for 38 years. At his retirement in 1987, he was a turbine operator at Great Northern Paper Company, East Millinocket Operations. He was a life member of Bernard L. Coro Chapter No. 22, DAV, Medway and also a life member of the Francis E. Elliott Post No. 4154 VFW, Millinocket. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna M. (Walsh) McDunnah of East Millinocket; one son, Thomas P. McDunnah of East Millinocket; two daughters, Laurie and her husband, Robert Moscone Jr. of Millinocket, Beth Ann and her husband, John Mondor of Deland, Fla.; nine grandchildren; Dwight "D.J." McDunnah, Cameron McDunnah, James McDunnah, Geoffrey McDunnah, Matthew Moscone, Michelle Moscone, Erica Mondor, Christopher Mondor, and Ginger Mondor; one great-grandchild, Mitchell McDunnah, and one great-stepgrandchild, MacKenzie Bell, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Richard E. McDunnah and twin babies. Dunk enjoyed his winter home in Florida and his summer home in Maine. He won many pool tournaments at the rec hall during his winters in Florida. While in Florida, he had a great deal of interest picking oranges and strawberries and distributing them among family and friends. Another one of his favorite pastimes, was the flea markets and bringing gifts home for everyone. He enjoyed playing Poker with his friends and also going drag racing, "as a Family Affair", with his son Tommy. Dunk was an avid candlepin bowler and won many trophies for this talent. He loved his wife, his children, and his friends. He was a warm and kind man who provided well for his family. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. DAV Chapter No. 22 will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will be in East Millinocket Cemetery. EAST MILLINOCKET – James P. "Jamie" McDunnah, 32, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at his home. He was born May 23, 1980, in Houlton, the son of Thomas P. and Lisa L. (Sherman) McDunnah.
Jamie was a graduate of Schenck High School, class of 1998. While in high school he excelled in athletics, and was particularly talented in soccer and basketball. Jamie loved the sport of racing and grew up racing with his father and brothers, and went on to work for several years in the Winston Cup Series. He worked for Roy Hill Drag Racing School for a period of time, and was a licensed drag race driver and held license #PS1000. Jamie was privileged and proud to have worked for the racing teams of Ricky Rudd, Dale Jarrett and Matt Kenseth, and was a member of the Robert Yates Racing Team, for which Dale Jarrett was driver, which won the Winston Cup Championship Series in 1999. While auto racing was where he worked, Jamie also enjoyed dirt biking and moto cross racing.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas P. McDunnah of East Millinocket and Lisa L. Fogarty and her companion, Tim Suitter, of Houlton; a son, Maverick McDunnah of Winthrop; four siblings, Cameron McDunnah and his wife, Melissa, of East Millinocket, Geoffrey McDunnah and his wife, Angela, of Old Town, Kacey Fogarty and Brittany Fogarty of Houlton; paternal grandmother, Anna McDunnah of East Millinocket; maternal grandmother, Sandra Duff of Littleton; maternal grandmother, Arlene Crosby of Ludlow; four nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Mitchell, Madison and Mason; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jamie will also be missed by Maverick's mother, Rachel Monahan of Winthrop, special aunts, Lana Desmond and Laurie Moscone and her husband, Bob; and special cousins, D.J. McDunnah and wife, Kara, and family, Matthew Moscone and wife, Darlene, and Michelle Moscone. He was predeceased by his paternal great-grandparents, Linwood "Pup" McDunnah and Rose McDunnah; paternal grandfather, Delmont McDunnah; maternal grandfather, Philip Sherman; and an uncle, Richard McDunnah.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Friends are invited to visit with the family 11 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Spring interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery. CASSIE BELL (MCEARCHERN) OTIS EAST MILLINOCKET – Cassie B. Otis 87, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Mercy Hospital in Portland. She was born July 9, 1918, in Madison, the daughter of John and Flora (MacDonald) McEarchern. Cassie grew up and lived in Madison, where she married Donald Otis. She moved to East Millinocket and raised her family there. Later in life, she moved to southern Maine where she enjoyed going for rides by the ocean. Cassie enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Ma and Gram will be remembered sitting in her rocker having her tea and toast. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald in July 2001; two sons, Richard and Alan; two daughters, Frances and Kathleen in 1986; two sisters, Mary and Margaret; a granddaughter, Tracey Dougan; and a son-in-law, Lewis Gordon. Cassie is survived by five sons, Ronald and his wife, Janet, of Medway, Frederick and Donald of Portland, Reginald and his wife, Mary, of Blaine, Robert and his wife, Janice, of North Carolina; three daughters, Ann Gordon of Anson, Margaret Lee and her husband, Emery, of Medway and Shirley Baker of Portland; 28 grandchildren, Jeff, Jimmy, Cathy, Joyce, Darin, Joe, Tim, Tammy, Christian, Brandi, Christine, Robert, Patricia, Amy, Linda, Robert, Hazel, Elizabeth, Reggie, Pauline, Clara Jo, Jessica, Crystal, Lisa, Jodi, Nikki, Missy and Regina; 49 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. BLAINE, Maine — A 72-year-old Blaine man died early Wednesday after he was critically burned in an accident at his home Tuesday afternoon.
Reginal Otis died at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said in a release Wednesday.
According to McCausland, Otis had been using a torch to cut up an old heating oil tank at his home. Investigators from the state fire marshal's office said the torch apparently ignited vapors as the oil tank was being cut apart. It was unclear what type of flammable liquid remained in the tank.
Otis was first taken by Crown Ambulance to The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle. He was then flown by helicopter to the Boston hospital with burns to 80 percent of his body.

BLAINE - BLAINE Reginal "Reg" Erlon Otis, 72, passed away early in the morning June 19, 2013, the husband of Mary (Owens) Otis and the owner of Otis' Junk Yard. Reg was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Norridgewock, son of the late Donald and Cassie (McEachern) Otis of East Millinocket.
Reg went to school in Madison and then joined the U.S. Navy in 1958 where he served proudly for eight years before serving in the U.S. Air Force for 12 years. After retiring from the service, Reg worked for SAD 42 for 18 years as a bus driver and janitor, retiring from there to work full-time in his junk yard.
Reg is survived by his wife, Mary (Owens) Otis of Blaine; two sons, Joseph and wife, Linda, of Stafford, Va., and Timothy and wife, Paula, of Mars Hill; daughter, Tammy Barnett and husband, William, of Abilene, Texas; brothers, Ronald and wife, Janet, of Medway, Frederick of Westbrook and Donald Otis of Portland; sisters, Ann of Anson, Shirley Baker of Buxton, and Margaret "Jean" Lee and husband, Emery, of Medway; 11 grandchildren, who were all so special to him, Leroy and wife, Kim, stationed at Fort Knox, Ky., JoLynne Flanary and husband, Walter, of Stafford, Va., Candace Otis stationed at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Cheryl Scifers and husband, Johnny, of Abilene, Texas, Cody Webster of Elk Horn, Iowa, Amanda Moore and husband, Thomas, of Abilene, Texas, Mary Beth Guynn of Jeannette, Pa., Denise Otis of Stafford, Va., Jordon Barnett stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, Taylor Otis stationed at Fort Drum, N.Y., and Reba Otis of Mars Hill. Reg was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Reg was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Allen and Richard; and sisters, Kathleen and Francis.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, Main Street, Mars Hill, with the Very Rev. Jean Paul LaBrie officiating. A reception will be after the service in the church reception room. Donations may be made in his memory to Catholic Women of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
