NAME: Nellie or Nelle or Nell /Sebree/.
HISTORY: Nellie was unmarried. She went from Boone Co sometime between 1903 and 1905 to attend business school in Cincinnati, Ohio, while living with her sister and husband, Pearl and GeorgeWEINDEL, in Covington, KY. Following the business college years, Nelle became a model for Howard Chandler Christy, famous portrait painter, and lived at the artist's hme in Zanesville, (I think), Ohio, with other models.
Dick Chadwick has a full length portrait of her in his living room. It was painted during the years when Nelle modeled for the artist and I believe Christy painted it just before she left him to take the Fairbanks Morse job. The painting had belonged to Dick's sister Betty before she died.
After the modeling experience, Nelle got a job with the Fairbanks Morse Co.in Cincinnati where she became the secretary to Mr. Dodge. When Mr. Dodge wastransferred to St. Paul, Minn., Nelle went there also. It was when she was there that Dick and Beulah Kavanaugh also moved to St. Paul. Nelle's next move was to New York where Mildred and I visited her in 1926. She lived in an apartment on Columbia Hgts in Brooklyn at that time. Her last move as secretary of Mr. Dodge was to Chicago where she retired at the age of 46 (I think).

Found online: "Surname: Savage
This interesting name is an example of that sizeable group of early European surnames that were gradually created from the habitual use of nicknames. The nicknames were given in the first instance with reference to a variety of characteristics, such as physical attributes or peculiarities, mental and moral characteristics, or to habits of dress or occupation. Savage is of early medieval English origin, and derives from the Middle English and Old French "salvage, sauvage", wild, uncontrolled. The surname has the distinction of being first recorded in the Domesday Book (see below). Further early examples include: Robert le Sauuage (Surrey, 1198) and Ralph le Savage (Suffolk, 1268). The surname is particularly well recorded in the Province of Ulster, and the great Co. Down family of Savage - Savage of the Ards - was planted there by John de Courcey, a Norman invader, as early as 1177. The "Annals of the Four Masters" mention that the name was Gaelicized as "Mac an tSabhasaigh", and accept that the English settlers there became hibernicized. Thomas Savage, "a tayler", aged 27 yrs., who embarked from London on the ship "Planter" bound for New England in April 1635, was among the first of the name to enter America. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Edric Saluvage, which was dated 1086, in the "Domesday Book for Herefordshire", during the reign of King William 1st, known as "William the Conqueror", 1066 - 1087. Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was known as Poll Tax. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling."

LDS Family ordinance record lists Elisha baptised 7 Sep 2002 Manti Temple. This record ansl gives death of Thankful Sage as 19 Apr 1778 Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut.
LDS Family ordinance record gives Elisha's birth date as 1733 making him 17 years younger than his wife.
LDS Ordinance record gives marriage date 14 Aug 1736 for Elisha and Thankful. I have Thankful married before she married Elisha to a Benjamin Butler is 1734. She could have then married Elisha in 1736. I do have a real marriage date to Elisha so this needs more research.
Also baptised 7 Sep 2002 Manti Temple.
