However, an examination of Dr. Albert Bailey's "A Genealogy of the Spragues of Baileyville, Maine," p. 4, as well as the 1850 Census of Princeton, where Lovina, her brother, Hiram, and her mother, Sally, are found in the household of Sally's second husband, Eli Sprague, makes it clear that Lovina is Sally Bryant's daughter by her first husband, Hiram Pineo. BRYANT, William E., 82
EAST MACHIAS - William E. "Bill" Bryant, 82, died Dec. 28, 1999, at Togus Veteran's Hospital, Augusta. He was born in East Machias, April 18, 1917, the son of John and Clara (Gardner) Bryant. He was a graduate of Washington Academy and served in the Army at Okinawa, during World War II. After working in Wallingford, Conn. for 17 years, he moved back "home" to Maine and worked for many years as a "man of all trades." He was a member of the local VFW Post No. 1737. In his youth, he flew his own plane and also enjoyed dancing, hunting and music. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carrie (Rogers) Bryant; two sons, Richard O. Bryant and his wife, Linda of Clovis, Calif. and Curtis E. Bryant and his wife, Suzanne of Guilford, Conn.; two daughters, Elaine B. Radley of East Machias and Betty L. Kelly and her husband, John of Wallingford, Conn. He is also survived by two brothers, Hollis Bryant of East Machias and Elvin Bryant of Auburn; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, two cousins, James "Alfred" Bryant and his wife, Elsie of East Machias, and Gardner Pope of Brunswick, several nieces and nephews, and two very special friends, Roger Foss of East Machias and James O. Ackley of Cutler. At Bill's request, there will be no services or viewing. He wanted his family and friends to remember him as he was in life. Burial will be in the Machiasport Eastside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in his memory to the Togus Veteran's Hospital, Cancer unit.

January 10, 2010 of Mr. Harry Wakelin of West Royalty, age 78 years.
Beloved husband of Stella (nee Ford) Wakelin, and dear father of Darlene Wakelin,
Janette (Laurie) Paquet, Judy (Chris) Hucz, Cindy (Norman) Birt, Kent (Jeanette)
Wakelin, and Shawn (Patricia) Wakelin.
He is also survived by six loving grandchildren Alicia and Jillian Birt, Chad and
Cory Paquet, Emily and Sarah Wakelin, brother Raymond "Bud" (Matilda) Wakelin,
sister Joyce Maye (Austin deceased), brothers-in-law John Matheson and Rollie Ford,
several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Eva (Bryenton) Wakelin, sisters Ruby
(George) Jay and Elsie Matheson.
Resting at the Cutcliffe Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held in the
Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the family plot at Sherwood Cemetery.

My researcher at Kew states that James was one of three men of thisname enlisted in 1800, possibly he was the one in Captain Darrah'scompany from August 1800. He goes on to say " Judging from hispromotions, he was an exemplary soldier. I feel that the authorities haveignored odd days ,but my estimate is that he entered the Fencibles,receiving a £3 bounty in February or March 1799.

HAWKHURST when on 23rd. of March on a voyage 2,300miles from Rio deJaneiro fire broke out.All the way from there till the Hawkhurst reachedRio de Janeiro on 3rd. April Captain Thomas Robertson and his crew foughtthe fire.The cargo was saved and my grandfather was decorated with a goldmedal by the Emperor of Brazil and received a gold [?] clock from theunderwriters and owners. This clock is at present with my sister, Anna.
Alex was in business with his brother Tom in the Gold Coast [Diamondmerchant]
before joining the Forces,where he was a corporal[2693] withthe RoyalFusiliers.
