General Notes: Husband - Ezra Martin Fuller
!At age seven, Ezra moved with his family from Jay, Maine to Mercer
County, Illinois, arriving in 1843. In 1865 he moved to Minnesota and in
1879 to Montrose, McCook County, South Dakota. After Martha died, he
married Mrs. Emma Stainsby. He was a merchant in Montrose for many
years as a partner in the firms Hamilton and Fuller (with J.T. Hamilton,
founder of the Montrose Bank) and later Heyl & Fuller. He later served as
post master, then as night watchman, patroling the streets of the town.
After retiring because of poor health, he spent several winters with his
daughter Minnie Coons, in Stafford County, Kansas and summers back in
Montrose with his granddaughter Mrs. Lon Wheeler. He was a member of
the Presbyterian church and the Masonic Fraternity.

Jefferson Fuller,farmer,now resident of Millersburg township, near Joy,is a native of Maine,born in 1839 and came with his parents in 1842 to Mercer county,where he has since resided;here he was reared on the farm.He enlisted in company I,17th Illinois Volunteers in 1861, in which regiment he served three years and then veteranized and was transferred to the 8th Illinois Volunteers and continued in the service until June 1866. He was in the battles of Frederickton,Shilo,Fort Donelson; in the siege of Vicksburg,Mobile and numerous skirmishes in Texas.At Fort Donelson he received a slight wound.The only one received during his long term of service.He was married in 1866 to Josephine Awbery,native of Kentucky and daughter of Gabriel W.Awbery,of Kentucky, who served during the war in the Federal Army as a volunteer from his native state.In 1865 the southern resentiment becoming too warm for a federal soldier in his own state he came north.Mr Fuller has by this marriage two children:Mary O. and Dora E. Jefferson Fuller Jr. raised four sons,three of whom were in the army.He and his wife were members of the Baptist Church.Jefferson Fuller,the subject of this sketch, began life for himself with such capital as nature supplied him,energy and muscle.He now owns a good farm of 100 acres,which he has well stocked.

his wife Tabitha Libby came to Illinois in the Fall of 1842 Staying near

Tabitha died possibly in childbirth,he later remarried the widow
Elizabeth Blaisdell Downs.She is buried near Jefferson at the Aledo
Cemetery,MercerCo,Ill.He was a very prosperous farmer of his time.Dates

Mrs. Sarah Fuller Crose,daughter of Jefferson and Elizabeth Fuller was born Maine, 1842 and died at her home
north of Keithsburg, Monday, Feb.18, 1920, aged 77 years 1 month and 29 days.
The deceased was married to Wilson William Crose Jan. 7, 1864. To this union was born 8 children, 4 who have preceeded their mother in death. Those that are left are William Crose of Marked Tree, Ark. Elmer Crose of
New Boston, Illinois; Jefferson Crose of Keithsburg, Illinois and Clarence at home.
She came here with her parents from Maine at age 2 years and has lived near Keithsburg ever since. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband Wilson W. Crose, 4 children, 3 half sisters and 1 brother; 14 grandchildren; 3
gr-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the family home on Wednesday, Rev. J.M. Dawson officiating. Internment was in the Greenmound Cem. Keithsburg, Illinois

William Fuller ,farmer of Suez Twp. Mercer county was born in New Boston Twp.Mercer county,Illinois
Oct.27,1843.He was the son of Jefferson and Tabitha (Libby) Fuller natives of the state of Maine.They drove from that state to Mercer county,Illinois arriving in 1841 and settling in New BostonTwp.in 1842. William was married to Johanna,daughter of Hugh and Lydia Brown. They have two sons,Elmer and Edgar C..In 1867 Mr.Fuller moved to Suez Twp.,where he has since been engaged in farming and stock raising and now owns 240 acres of excellent land. July 24,1862 he enlisted in Company H Eighty-fourth Illinois Volunteer Infantry and was assigned to the Army of the Cumberland and participated in many engagements.The most important of them being Stone River, where he was wounded and incapacitated for duty for 10 months; Resaca,Peach Tree Creek,Jonesboro,Lovejoy Station,Siege of Atlanta, Franklin and Nashville; Discharged at Springfield in June 1865. Politically he is a leading Republican and is a member of the Republican County Central Committee from Suez Twp. A member of the Warren Shedd post #262 GAR Aledo.

William Fuller son of Jefferson and Tabitha Fuller was born in New Boston Twp. Oct.27,1843 and died at his home Nov.21,1911 after a lingering illness. His early life was spent in New Boston Twp. On June 24,1862 he enlisted in Company H,84th Volunteer infantry and participated in many important battles. At Stone River he was wounded and incapacitated from duty for ten months.He was honorably discharged in June 1865 at Springfield,Illinois and returned to Aledo.He was married Feb. 20th 1867 to Miss Johanna Brown and moved to Suez twp where he has since resided.To this union,two sons were born.Elmer of Aledo and Edgar C residing at the
old home.He is also survived by four grandchildren, three half sisters and the following brothers and sisters;
Jefferson of Joy Thomas of Rock Island,Ezra of Mont Rose,South Dakota; Sarah Crose of Keithsburg and Orrissa
Mawbry of Aledo. At an early age Mr. Fuller united with the Ohio Grove Christian Church of which he was a
member until his death. He was also a member of the Warren Shedd Post No.262 G.A.R. of Aledo. Funeral services
were held from the home November 23, conducted by Rev.Henry Brink of Orion. lnternment was in the McClure
Cemetery.

HERTFORD -- Paul W. Fuller, Jr., 69, of Hartford, Oxford, Maine, USA on Au gust 2, 2004, in Albemarle Hospital. Born in Rumford, Oxford, Maine, US A, he was the son of the late Paul W. and Lynda Barnett Fuller. He retir ed after 23 years as a tech sergeant in the U.S. Air Force where he w as an inspector, an aerospace ground equipment repair tech and ground safe ty officer with the 48th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. He received the A ir Force Commendation Medal for ground safety non-commissioned officer. A fter service he worked as a maintenance supervisor at the Sarah Bonwell Hu dgins Regional Center. Fuller graduated from Stephens High School Cla ss of 1954 in Rumford, Oxford, Maine, USA and from Thomas Nelson Communi ty College. He was a member and Deacon at Chapel On The Sound, the Holid ay Island Property Owner's Association and was active in the Guardian Ad L itum Program. In 1984, he was awarded the Leonard Znimer Memorial Awar d. Survivors include his wife, Maureen Bridget Ann McKenna Fuller; two so ns and their wives, Paul W. New Boston, Illinois; Jefferson Crose of Keithsburg, Illinois and Clarence at home.
She came here with her parents from Maine at age 2 years and has lived near Keithsburg ever since. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband Wilson W. Crose, 4 children, 3 half sisters and 1 brother; 14 grandchildren; 3
gr-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the family home on Wednesday, Rev. J.M. Dawson officiating. Internment was in the Greenmound Cem. Keithsburg, Illinois

IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN. We, whose names are underwritten, the Loyal Subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, &c. William Fuller ,farmer of Suez Twp. Mercer county was born in New Boston Twp.Mercer county,Illinois
Oct.27,1843.He was the son of Jefferson and Tabitha (Libby) Fuller natives of the state of Maine.They drove from that state to Mercer county,Illinois arriving in 1841 and settling in New BostonTwp.in 1842. William was married to Johanna,daughter of Hugh and Lydia Brown. They have two sons,Elmer and Edgar C..In 1867 Mr.Fuller moved to Suez Twp.,where he has since been engaged in farming and stock raising and now owns 240 acres of excellent land. July 24,1862 he enlisted in Company H Eighty-fourth Illinois Volunteer Infantry and was assigned to the Army of the Cumberland and participated in many engagements.The most important of them being Stone River, where he was wounded and incapacitated for duty for 10 months; Resaca,Peach Tree Creek,Jonesboro,Lovejoy Station,Siege of Atlanta, Franklin and Nashville; Discharged at Springfield in June 1865. Politically he is a leading Republican and is a member of the Republican County Central Committee from Suez Twp. A member of the Warren Shedd post #262 GAR Aledo.
This was taken from an obituary for William Fuller
William Fuller son of Jefferson and Tabitha Fuller was born in New Boston Twp. Oct.27,1843 and died at his home Nov.21,1911 after a lingering illness. His early life was spent in New Boston Twp. On June 24,1862 he enlisted in Company H,84th Volunteer infantry and participated in many important battles. At Stone River he was wounded and incapacitated from duty for ten months.He was honorably discharged in June 1865 at Springfield,Illinois and returned to Aledo.He was married Feb. 20th 1867 to Miss Johanna Brown and moved to Suez twp where he has since resided.To this union,two sons were born.Elmer of Aledo and Edgar C residing at the
old home.He is also survived by four grandchildren, three half sisters and the following brothers and sisters;
Jefferson of Joy Thomas of Rock Island,Ezra of Mont Rose,South Dakota; Sarah Crose of Keithsburg and Orrissa
Mawbry of Aledo. At an early age Mr. Fuller united with the Ohio Grove Christian Church of which he was a
member until his death. He was also a member of the Warren Shedd Post No.262 G.A.R. of Aledo. Funeral services
were held from the home November 23, conducted by Rev.Henry Brink of Orion. lnternment was in the McClure
Cemetery.
