SHERMAN - Mavis Nola Morgan, 81, died Oct. 29, 2004. She was born Jan. 22, 1923, in Sherman Mills, the daughter of Effie Maybell (Curtis) and Alvah Temple Perry. Mavis graduated from Sherman High School in 1941, where she was a member of the basketball team. She held a variety of jobs including caretaker of Sherman Cemetery, and Town of Sherman ballot clerk. She was an avid historian and enjoyed researching genealogy. She was a proud Red Sox Fan, a Democrat, and a regular attendant at the Church of Faith in Sherman for many years. She is survived by five sons, Russell and his wife, Sharon, Larry and his wife, Roanne, Michael and his wife Nancy, of Hermon, Marlon of Randolph, and Scott, of Sherman; one daughter, Mellony of Winterport; one sister, Gloria MacKenzie of East Millinocket; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Morgan; and one daughter, Loretta Morgan Smiley.

Thank youso much for responding to my postems. I was very surprised to
find the info about your Richardson folk. This genealogy data I obtained
from a compilationfrom one of my husband's piano
customers in 1976. I called her up to ask her if she had a piano, and if
she did, would she like to have it tuned. She did have a piano, and she
made an appointment to have it tuned. When I told her my husband's name
was Howard Bryant, she told me she should remember that easily, because
there
were Bryants in her family. She gave a copy of a Bryant family history.
It includes the background of not only her Bryants, but of various other
families in her family group. I believe she compiled this material
herself, because she relates incidents mentioning herself. Her name is
Juanita Morgan Riggs.
She descended from James F. Morgan & Lucretia Young Richardson. I could
lengthen this email, but

They moved to the frontier town of Goldres Ridge Plantation in April 1851. Jessie was drafted at age 44, and had nine living chrildren at that time. They lost they lost their oldest child in Bow, N.H. Helen A. bron July 19, 1842, died Sept. 7, 1842.
Jesse was in Co. E., Frist Veteran Infantry, in the army of the Potomac. He was present when Gen. Lee surrenered
General Notes: Wife - Lydia Frances Young
The ancestors on her mother's side include James Tarr Sr. and James Tarr Jr. who took part in the Battle at Bunker Hill. also, the hale family and many more.
Lydia was called out at night to deliver a child for the Hiscock family, she had to snowshoe in a blizzard in Jan., 1872. She delived the baby, and waited for daylight to snowshoe back home. She died from pneumonia and exposure.

General Notes: Husband - Wilmot H. Wiggie Robinson
MILLINOCKET - Wilmot "Wiggie" Robinson, 85, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Fri-day, June 29, 2007, at his cherished camp on the West Branch of the Penobscot River. He was born May 18, 1922, in Millinocket, the son of Ralph and Carrie (Sturgeon) Robinson. Wiggie was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1939. He served in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps in Iran, during World War II. After three years of active duty, he returned to Millinocket and married his sweetheart, Joyce Morgan, March 14, 1946. Wiggie was a longtime employee of Great Northern Paper Co., Millinocket, retiring in 1980, after 34 years. He was a member of Millinocket Baptist Church, BPOE No. 1521, Millinocket; Francis Elliott Post No. 4154 VFW, Millinocket; Maine Snow-mobile Association, Northern Timber Cruisers and many other organizations too numerous to list. Wiggie loved the outdoors and spent much of his life in the outdoors, and writing and talking about Maine outdoor recreation. He was a Maine master guide since 1950 and was a life member of the National Rifle Association and Maine Trappers Association. Wiggie started the Maine Bird Dog Club, was instrumental in founding the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine and served as its executive director for many years. He was also a founding and life member of the Millinocket Fin and Feather Club. Wiggie served the state of Maine for many years as chairman of the Maine Guide's Board of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Advisory Council for 20 years and the White Water Advisory Council. He was a member of Trout Unlimited and Ducks Unlimited. Wiggie was a long time outdoor photographer and writer, and was, at the time of his death, an outdoor columnist for the Northwoods Sporting Journal, the Maine Sportsman magazine, the Katahdin Times, the Community Press and the Katahdin Press, and was also co-host of the radio program, The Maine Outdoors, with V. Paul Reynolds on WVOM radio. Since 1979, he was a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America, OWAA, which bestowed on him the Jackie Pfeifler Award, a very prestigious award given in recognition of the recipient's generosity and kindness toward others. This award was only bestowed five other times in the history of the OWAA. Wiggie was also a member of the New England Outdoor Writers Association of America. Wiggie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce (Mor-gan) Robinson of Millinocket; three children, Judy Robinson and her companion, Dusty Cramp, of Woodville, Patsy Huston and her husband, Sam, of Millinocket and Jay Robinson of Woodville; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Robinson of Millinocket; siblings, Preston Robinson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ralph Robinson of New Hampshire, Carrie Farquhar and her husband, Doug, of Mill-inocket, Earl Robinson and his wife, Janet, of East Holden and Paul Robinson and his wife, Claudia, of Maitland, Fla.; three grandchildren, Alyssa Huston, Lea Ann Robinson and Michael Robinson, all of Millinocket; a great-grandson, Billy Lee Bernier of Millinocket; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his oldest son, Michael S. Robinson; his oldest grandson, Matthew Huston; brothers, James, Eldon, Donald, Leo and Charles Robinson; and a sister, Corinne Cotton. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Bouchard - Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, at Millinocket Baptist Church, 297 Penobscot Ave., Millinocket, with the Rev. Rudy Homchuck, pastor, officiating.

General Notes: Husband - Luther Morgan
Luther Morgan was a Yoeman at Pembroke, and December 3, 1960 the proprietors of the town deeded to him six aches in the Gore, and to his son Nathaniel three-quaters of an aches. This property remained in the family for many years, and was later in the posession of George P. Morgan, a great-great-grandson of Luther. The property was located in the extreme southern part of Pembroke, near Suncook Village. Son Nathaniel built the front part of the house, and it was later repaired and inproved , as of this writing, in August 1973, it is not known if this building still exists.
Luther's name appears in the records of the town of Kington, Kensington and Exeter, as well as Hampton, and he settled in Pembroke in 1728; his name also appears in " A schedule of the Proprietors Names of the town of Chester", not dated , but about 1722. He was living on the mentioned Pembroke property prior to 1738, and it had been previously owned by one Benjamin Holt.
Luther is recored as having been a Lietutanant in the Company of Captian Moses Foster, in His Majesty's Service in 1752.
