Her father was Peter Dorherty, an Irish farmer in Southern Mississippi, and her mother was Cora, a Cherokee Indian slave, as the family story goes. Peter was actually married to Sarah Bingham Cobb.
Isabella, at about 15-17 years of age had two daughters by Jno Jencks, a German peddler about 40-45 years of age, and he fell ill, and his family from up north came and took him away, this also is a family story. She was left with these two daughters, Ziska and Oma Corean

I exchange data with people who have a interlocking marriage
into any surnames that interlocks into any of the branches
of my families.I started when I was 10 years old now 68years.
I am sharing my data in the interest of collaborative research.
I do this to help people to find there lineages and to fill
the pedigree charts.
I have not personally researched all families listed; dates
and information are subject to verification. Not responsible
for typographical errors misplaced citations. Missing
sources/references are because of my learning curve, not my
intention. You are encouraged to seek further documention
for your own confirmation.Further I have no control what
other people include about their families in any of the
data that they exchange.
If there are no dates about the living, then the computers
can not determine if the person is alive or deceased.
The sites set the living anywhere from 75 to 100 years
depending on the laws of the countries that they are in.
When I exchange with lineages the living are sometime shown
depending on who you are exchanging with, but my
request is that,if you update any of my data to the
internet, you also set the do not show the living, before
you update to the internet.
Also place in the source your contact email
address, and the lineage, so people can contact you
reqarding your update.
I have no claim to owning the data, except that which is
my immediate lineage, and even that is worked on by many
members of my family lineages. It is only as good as what
people put into it,that exchange with me. So look
in the notes of the genealogy for origin, if they put it
there,or the source.
If you are going to correct, update or put new branches on the
lineage your are inquirying about, please do not add from what
I have sent you,(This just duplicates how many more people
I have to find in the duplicates and merge them, edit your
notes to ensure that there is nothing there that you do not
want published.
Also do not submit information on copyrights that invades the
privacy of others especially for a relative that has not given
you permission to publish same.
Remember nothing is carved in stone except time.
The best way for me to describe the relationship, is for
example if you have 6,000 people in your data base
that are connected via interlocking marriages, and
you find that you have a marriage that is interlocked into
one of my people in my data base, then they are related
via interlocking marriages, does not matter how distant.
The difference here is that the interlocking into my data
base would link to over 631,749 people via interlocking
marriages.
My hobby is working on interlocking marriages,to any
family surname that is in my data, and I exchange with
people to find them, and to assist them in finding lineage
that link into their families.

The difference here is that the interlocking into my data
base would link to over 631,749 people via interlocking
marriages.
My hobby is working on interlocking marriages,to any
family surname that is in my data, and I exchange with
people to find them, and to assist them in finding lineage
that link into their families.

family surname that is in my data, and I exchange with
people to find them, and to assist them in finding lineage
that link into their families.
General Notes: Child - John H. Leavitt

General Notes: Husband - Thomas Cobb
About the first of June 1685, Thomas Cobb, his wife Dorothy and sonRichard embarked, quite probably at London, on a ship that was commandedby Captain William Condey and sailed for America. The daughtersElizabeth and Sarah had died some years before and we have no knowledgeof what became of the other children. If they were then living, theywere of adult age. During the voyage four cases of smallpox developed onthe ship, so that the vessel was quarantined when it reached Bostonharbor on the 31st of July. The time of crossing the ocean was littleover eight weeks. On reaching port, the passengers were not allowed toland in the town, but were placed on Lovell's Island in the harbor, wherethey suffered much from lack of proper protection and care. They wereconfined there for thirteen days, with poor supply of water, with nohouse to shelter them, and no beds to lie upon. After much delay inresponse to their petition, they were permitted to land in Boston on the13th of August. Captain Conley died on the 25th of the month (ofsmallpox or not, we do not know) and was buried in the Granary BuryingGround.

General Notes: Child - David Cobb
General David Cobb entered the army in 1777 as lientenant colonel of acontinental regiment, commanded by Colonel Henry Jackson. In thisregiment he encountered some hard service, particularly in New Jersey andon Rhode Island, where he led what may be called a forlorn hope, todelay with 20 men the progress of a Hessian regiment of cavalry.
His activity and talent, and high military qualities, attracted theattention of the then commander-in-chief, whose peculiar excellence itwas to judge rightly of the characters of men, and he was soon called tohis family as his aid. There he remained until the termination of thewar, although he was appointed to the chief command of the regiment inwhich he had entered the service, and left the army a full colonel and abrigadier general by brevet.
He was with Washington during all his greater operations - and duringmany trying situations in which that great commander was placed. He waswith him at the time of the treason of Arnold - the capture of Cornwallis- and when the army maddened by neglect, had resolved to turn theirswords upon the congress, and redress their wrongs.
He was not only the associate, but the intimate and confidential friendof Washington, Green, Lincoln, Knox, and Hamilton.
Soon after his return from the army, he had received from GovernorHancock an appointment to the bench of the court of common pleas, and waselected by the legislature tot he office of major-general of the fifthdivision of the Massachusetts militia - thus uniting in his person thechief civil and military functions of the country.

Copied from Obituary found in papers of Juanita (Marston) Coons----
Mrs Almira Chick was born at Buxton, Maine, in 1804. Her maiden name was Cobb. She was one of a family of four sisters and 4 brothers. One sister and two brothers survive her, and yet live in the state of Maine. She was wedded to Jeremiah Marston of Yarmouth, Maine, in 1825. To them were born two daughters and five sons. Her first husband having died, she was married a second time, in 1841, to Thomas Chick, at Buxton, Maine. Two sons were born of this union; one of them passed before her to the other world. Her home was, at different periods of her life, at Buxton, Yarmouth, Porter and Biddeford, Maine; and at Mendota, IL, where she came with her husband in 1854 and has lived for the past 37 years. The last years of her life were spent at the home of her son, Jeremiah Marston, where she died April 20, 1891, at 10:15, P.M., at the ripe age of 87 years.
She leaves, to mourn her decease, two brothers, William and Ossman Cobb, at BHuxton, Maine; four sons and one daughter, namely:- Jeremiah Marston, of Mendota, IL. ; Roswell Marston, of Minonk, IL.,; Hiram Marston, of Fulton Co., IL.;Ferdinand Chick, of Hastings, Neb.; and Mrs, Martha A. Dix, of Kansas City, MO.
Sister Chick was a child of Christian parents and trainihg. She delighted to tell how her father was a deacon for forty yeats in the same Congregational church in Maine, and that her brother is still a deacon in that church. Her father's house was always open to the entertainment of passing Ministers and so she came to have a wide acquaintance with them; and in her later days, though her memory became sadly weakened with advancing age, she recalled, with great facility, the names and experiences of the early days.
At about twelve years of age she heard the call of the Savior to follow him, and soon became a member of the church to which she was always warmly attached, and of which she was an earnest member during the active years of her life. For some years past she had not been able to take an active part in the work or attendance upon the Services of the church, but has kept her membership in the First Baptist Church, of Mendota, her interest in the Lord's cause or service never ceasing until her death. One of the last wishes expressed to her pastor was that she might be a member of the church until she died, and that her children might enjoy, as she had done for sevenyy-five years, the joys and comforts of the Christian's hope.
She came like a sheaf of grain fully ripened to the harvest. Her last sickness was but of a few days duration, and, with but little apparent suffering, she sank without a struggle, like a weary child, to sleep ----- to sleep in Jesus.
(A Poem followed but was not clear enough to copy -- the last part was torn.)
