William Bradford was t he son of Governor William Bradford who came on the ship "Mayflower" in 1620 an d his wife, Alice (Carpenter) (Southworth) Bradford. He married first, Alice Ri chards; married second, widow Wiswell; and married third, Mary (Atwood) Holmes, the widow of Rev. John Holmes and the daughter of John (Wood) Atwood and Sarah Masterson. In addition to the four children he had by his third wife, he also had John, William, Thomas, Alice, Mercy, Hannah, Melatiah, Samuel, Sarah and Ma ry by his first wife, and a son, Joseph, by his second wife. William Bradford resided on the north side of the Jones River in the section known as Stony Broo k, Kingston, where he inherited a large estate from his father. He served as ma jor commander-in-chief of the Plymouth forces at the Great Swamp Fight in 1675 and was severely wounded. He was also a deputy in 1657; an assistant in 1658-81 ; and Deputy Governor of the Plymouth Colony from 1682-1686 and 1689-1691. He h eld the office of Deputy Governor for the last ten years of the Colony's existe nce except the last three years of Andro's administration. He also was a member of the Council of Massachusetts in 1691; treasurer in 1679-1685, 1689-1691; a member of the Council of War in 1657-1658; a Councilor of the Providence of Mas sachusetts Bay in Charter in 1692; and one of Governor Andro's Council in 1687. Next to Miles Standish, he was probably the principle military man of the Ply mouth Colony. He was first made captain and in King Philip's War held the rank of major. He was one of the owners of the Little Lotman's purchase in Middlebor o, Massachusetts, but never lived in that town. William died in 1704, and his t ombstone is on Burial Hill next to his father's.

Charles, who was born deaf. He went away to school somewhere and
became a cobbler. He was very successful and became wealthy. Printha
recalls that she once spent a few days with him and his wife, Rosie, at their
home in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The home was on Edwards Street near
downtown.
The 1900 census for ED 310, Haverhill, Essex Co., Massachusetts (Ancestry.com image 28 of 37), at 46 Nichols Street, shows Charles C. Mansfield, born may 1866, age 34, he & parents born in Maine, marrried for 7 years, foreman, shoe fcty, renting. Wife, Rosa A., born Aug 1870, age 29, married 7 years, no children, she & parents born in Maine.
The 1910 census for district 322, sheet 10, 6th ward, Haverhill, Essex Co., Massachusetts, lists, at 41 Howard Street, Charles C. Mansfield, age 43, he & parents born in Maine, foreman - stock room shoe factory with wife, Abbie R., age 39. Married for 17 years. Abbie is the mother of zero children.
The 1920 census for district 75, Haverhill, Essex Co., Massachusetts,
(Ancestry.com image 36 of 43), lists Charles C. Mansfield as a homeowner
with no mortgage, at 5 Edwards Street, age 53, he, wife & their parents all

Muster roll dated taunton may 16 1778, age given as 26 years. he reenlisted Oct 23, 1779 in col. mitchells reg for continental servide in the same co., where he is described of taunton; age 27, 6 in.(sic)in height, light complexion, brown hair and blue eyes.

Oliver commenced his service as a Revolutionary soldier at the battle of Bunker Hill, Capt. James Perry's company, Col. Paul D. Sargent's regiment.(2) He served next as a marine on the frigate "Boston," commanded by Samuel Tucker His name is next found on the "Pay Roll of six months men who who were raised by the town of Taunton and employed in continental service in the year of our Lord 1780, (2) the rate of 40s. per callendar month." He served 4 months and twenty-five days, including ten days for travel, from July 25, 1780.' In a list of the 16th division of six months men who marched from Springfield. Oliver is described as being 21 years of age, five feet eight inches in height, light complexion, residence Taunton. Oliver moved to Maine in 1782. In a deed dated February 24, 1787, at Wiscaaset, Me., record is found of Oliver Drake's buying land in Littleboro' (now Leeds), Me., Lot 85, one hundred acres, for £30; and in 1790, with wife Phebe, they sell two lots for £100 each.
