Ralph; born 1255; married by 1276 Mary and died by 29 July 1295. [Burke's
Peerage]
-------------------------------
RALPH DE TOENI VII, son and heir, was born 1255. His marriage and the
custody of his lands were granted respectively to the Earl of Hereford
and Essex and to Edmund, the King's son, 12 May 1264, but both were
granted to Richard de Brus, 8 August 1265. He had a protection, going to
the March on the King's affairs, 18 November 1276; was summoned for
service in Wales, 1277, 1282, 1283 and 1287, and to the Assembly at
Shrewsbury, 1283; and nominated attorneys, going beyond seas with the
Earl of Hereford and Essex, 10 May 1285. Being summoned for service in
Gascony, 1294, he was taken prisoner at Risonces, 31 March 1295, and sent
to Paris. He married, before 1276, Mary, who was living, 1283. He died,
presumably as a prisoner, before 29 July 1295 in France.

I exchange data with people who have a interlocking marriage
into any surnames that interlocks into any of the branches
of my families.I started when I was 10 years old now 68years.
I am sharing my data in the interest of collaborative research.
I do this to help people to find there lineages and to fill
the pedigree charts.
I have not personally researched all families listed; dates
and information are subject to verification. Not responsible
for typographical errors misplaced citations. Missing
sources/references are because of my learning curve, not my
intention. You are encouraged to seek further documention
for your own confirmation.Further I have no control what
other people include about their families in any of the
data that they exchange.
If there are no dates about the living, then the computers
can not determine if the person is alive or deceased.
The sites set the living anywhere from 75 to 100 years
depending on the laws of the countries that they are in.
When I exchange with lineages the living are sometime shown
depending on who you are exchanging with, but my
request is that,if you update any of my data to the
internet, you also set the do not show the living, before
you update to the internet.
Also place in the source your contact email
address, and the lineage, so people can contact you
reqarding your update.
I have no claim to owning the data, except that which is
my immediate lineage, and even that is worked on by many
members of my family lineages. It is only as good as what
people put into it,that exchange with me. So look
in the notes of the genealogy for origin, if they put it
there,or the source.
If you are going to correct, update or put new branches on the
lineage your are inquirying about, please do not add from what
I have sent you,(This just duplicates how many more people
I have to find in the duplicates and merge them, edit your
notes to ensure that there is nothing there that you do not
want published.
Also do not submit information on copyrights that invades the
privacy of others especially for a relative that has not given
you permission to publish same.
Remember nothing is carved in stone except time.
The best way for me to describe the relationship, is for
example if you have 6,000 people in your data base
that are connected via interlocking marriages, and
you find that you have a marriage that is interlocked into
one of my people in my data base, then they are related
via interlocking marriages, does not matter how distant.
The difference here is that the interlocking into my data
base would link to over 631,749 people via interlocking
marriages.
My hobby is working on interlocking marriages,to any
family surname that is in my data, and I exchange with
people to find them, and to assist them in finding lineage
that link into their families.

Maud de Braose, Baroness Wigmore (1224- 1300/23 March 1301) was a noble heiress and a member of the powerful de Braose family which held many lordships and domains in the Welsh Marches. She was the wife of Roger Mortimer, 1st Baron Wigmore, a celebrated soldier and Marcher baron. A staunch Royalist during the Second Barons' War, it was she who devised the plan to rescue Prince Edward (the future King Edward I of England) from the custody of Simon de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester.
Family
Maud was born in Wales in 1224, the second eldest daughter and co-heiress of Marcher lord William de Braose and Eva Marshal.
Maud had three sisters, Isabella, wife of Prince Dafydd ap Llywelyn; Eve, wife of William de Cantelou; and Eleanor, wife of Humphrey de Bohun.
Her paternal grandparents were Reginald de Braose and Grecia de Briwere, and her maternal grandparents were William Marshal, 1st Earl of Pembroke and Isabel de Clare, 4th Countess of Pembroke, daughter of Strongbow and Aoife of Leinster.
On 2 May 1230, when Maud was just six years old, her father was hanged by orders of Llewelyn the Great, Prince of Wales for alleged adultery with the latter's wife, Joan, Lady of Wales.

Marriage and issue
In 1247 Maud married Roger Mortimer of Wigmore. As the eldest son of Ralph de Mortimer and his Welsh wife, Princess Gwladys Ddu, Roger was himself a scion of another important Marcher family, and had succeeded his father in 1246, upon the latter's death. He was created 1st Baron Wigmore on an unknown date. Maud was seven years his senior, and they had been betrothed since childhood. On the occasion of their marriage, the honour of Radnor passed from the de Braose to the Mortimer family, and her marriage portion was some land at Tetbury which she inherited from her grandfather, Reginald de Braose. She also had inherited the Manor of Charlton sometime before her marriage, as well as four knight's fees in Ireland, which passed to Roger. Roger and Maud's principal residence was the Mortimers' family seat, Wigmore Castle in Herefordshire.
Roger and Maud together had seven children:
Ralph Mortimer (died before 10 August 1274), Sheriff of Shropshire and Staffordshire.
Edmund Mortimer, 2nd Baron Wigmore (1251-17 July 1304), married Margaret de Fiennes, daughter of William II de Fiennes and Blanche de Brienne, by whom he had issue, including Roger Mortimer, 1st Earl of March.
Isabella Mortimer (died after 1300), married firstly, John Fitzalan, 7th Earl of Arundel, by whom she had issue; she married secondly, Ralph d'Arderne; she married thirdly, Robert de Hastang.
Margaret Mortimer (died September 1297), married Robert de Vere, 6th Earl of Oxford, by whom she had one son.
Roger Mortimer of Chirk (died 3 August 1326 Tower of London), married Lucy de Wafre, by whom he had one son. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for having participated in the rebellion of Thomas of Lancaster in 1321.
Geoffrey Mortimer (died before 1282), he was unmarried.
William Mortimer (died before June 1297), married as her first husband, Hawise de Muscegros.
Prince Edward after becoming King Edward I of England. It was Maud de Braose who devised his escape from custody during the Second Barons' War[edit] Rescue of Prince Edward
Maud was described as beautiful and nimble-witted. During the Second Barons' War, she also proved to be a staunch Royalist. It was Maud herself who devised a plan for the escape of Prince Edward after he had been taken hostage by Simon de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester following the Battle of Lewes. On 28 May 1265, when the Prince was held in custody at Hereford Castle, Maud sent a party of horsemen to spirit him away to Wigmore Castle while he was out in the open fields, some distance from the castle, taking exercise by racing horses with his unsuspecting guardians as she had instructed him to do in the messages she had smuggled to him previously. At a signal from one of the horsemen, Edward galloped off to join the party of his liberators, where they escorted him to Wigmore Castle, twenty miles away, where Maud was waiting. She gave the Prince refreshments before sending him on to Ludlow Castle where he met up with the Earl of Gloucester who had defected to the side of the King.
At the Battle of Evesham on 4 August 1265, Maud's husband Roger fought on the side of Prince Edward, and personally killed Simon de Montfort. As a reward, Roger was given de Montfort's severed head and other parts of his anatomy. Roger sent these gruesome trophies home to Wigmore Castle as a gift to Maud. She held a great feast that very night to celebrate the victory, and de Montfort's head was raised in the Great Hall, still attached to the point of the lance.
Legacy
In 1300, Maud is recorded as having presented to a vacant benefice in the Stoke Bliss parish church in Herefordshire, its advowson having originally belonged to the Mortimers, but was bequeathed to Limebrook Priory by Roger. Maud died on an unknown date sometime between 1300 and 23 March 1301, and she was buried in Wigmore Abbey. Her husband Roger had died on 30 October 1282.
All the monarchs of England from 1413, as well as Mary, Queen of Scots, were directly descended from Maud, as is the current British Royal Family. Queen consorts Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard were also notable descendants of Maud de Braose through the latter's daughter Isabella, Countess of Arundel.
Maud de Braose was described as the "perfect example of a woman who obviated the restrictions her sex placed upon her and succeeded in placing herself squarely at the centre of the political milieu in the areas under her domestic control".

Humphrey de Bohun, Earl of Hereford, Earl of Essex, and Lord High
Constable. In the 30th Edward I [1302-3], this nobleman gave and granted
unto the king, by a formal conversance, the inheritances of al his lands
and lordships, as alsoof his earldoms of Hereford and Essex, and the
constableship of England, which, upon his marriage with Elizabeth
Plantagenet, widow of John, Earl of Holland, and dau. of the king, were
regranted to him and entailed upon his issue lawfully begotten by that
lady; in default thereof, and from and after the death of himself and
wife, then the lordship of Plessets and certain other lordships in Essex
and elsewhere, together with the constableship, should remain wholly to
the king and his heirs for ever. In the 34th of the same reign [13-6-7]
he had a grant similarly entailed of the whole territory of Annandale, in
Scotland. After this his lordship was in the wars of Scotland and was
taken prisoner in the 7th Edward II (1313-14), at the disastrous battle
(to the English) of Stryvelin. But he was exchanged for the wife of
Robert Bruce, whohad long been captive in England. From this period we
find him constantly engaged in the service of the crown until the 14th
year of the king's reign [1321-22], when Edward learning that the earl
was raising forces in the marches of Wales against Hugh de Spencer the
younger, sent him a peremptory command to forbear, which his lordship not
only refused obeying but forthwith joined Thomas, Earl of Lancaster, in
the great insurrection then incited by that nobleman for the redress of
certain grievances and the banishment of the Spencers. In his proceeding,
however, he eventually lost his life, being run through the body by a
soldier at the battle of Boroughbridge, in Yorkshire, where hisparty
received so signal a defeat on 16 March 1321. The earl had issue five
surviving sons and two surviving daughters, viz., John, Humphrey, Edward,
William, Humphrey, Alianore, and Margaret. The earl was succeeded by his
eldest son, Sir John de Bohun, K.B.
