SOUTHWEST HARBOR - Joseph Emile Daigle, 75, died April 17, 2000, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born Sept. 9, 1924, in St. Quentin, N.B., the son of Thomas and Abbie (Pelletier) Daigle. Joseph was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army in Central Europe. He worked 25 years at Gilley Plumbing and later ran his own plumbing shop, Joe Daigle Plumbing. He was a member of St. John Episcopal Church of Southwest Harbor. Joseph loved to tinker in his shop, making various items out of wood and he also enjoyed gardening. He is survived by is beloved wife of 31 years, Carolyn (Davis) Daigle; five sons, Richard Daigle of Seal Cove, Robert Daigle of Southwest Harbor, Tommy Daigle of Chesapeake, Va., Philip Daigle of North Hampton, N.H., and Michael Daigle of Bar Harbor; one brother, George Daigle of Springfield, Mass.; his stepson, Tyke Seavey of Norton, Mass.; two sisters, Nolla Black of California and Irene LeBrun of Canada; half sister, Bertha and Anne Russel. Joseph was pre deceased by his son, Steven. Contributions in Joseph's memory may be made to Southwest Harbor/Tremont Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 437, Southwest Harbor, or to St. John's Episcopal Church, Southwest Harbor 04679. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Mt. Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor, with the Rev. Ann Kidder officiating. Arrangements by Fernald Funeral Chapel, Mt. Desert.
