VELMA T. DAIGLE
FORT KENT - Velma T. Daigle, 82, died May 9, 2002, at a Fort Kent health-care facility. She was born in Fort Kent, Feb. 8, 1920, the daughter of Arthur and Denise (Levasseur) Daigle. Velma was a graduate of Madawaska Training School and a devoted alumni of UMFK. She graduated valedictorian of her high school class. Velma owned and operated Daigle American Motors for many years and was a Notary Public until 1994. She belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Chamber of Commerce. She was a volunteer in the Air Force Command, a member of The Pioneer CB Society Club from 1955 to 1975, and she also belonged to the Fort Kent Golf Club. She earned her private pilot's license at the age of 21 and enjoyed taking many aerial photographs. Velma was an avid fisherman, bowler, tennis player, cyclist and genealogist. She was a professional photographer who documented the construction of the Fort Kent dike through her photos. She also submitted her photos to newspapers a!
ll over the country. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by several cousins. In addition to both her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Lorraine Daigle in 1996. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent, and 1 p.m. Monday until time of service. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Monday at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Fort Kent, with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. Committal services will follow in the parish cemetery.

MADAWASKA - Conrad P. Daigle, 71, died at a Bangor hospital, Dec. 3, 1999. Born in Fort Kent on Feb. 20, 1928, son of Ludger and Azilda (Daigle) Daigle. He was a member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus Council 2638, past member of the Lion's Club, past National Guard, member of the St. Thomas church choir, president of the Golden Gate Shuffling Club in Florida. He and his wife established Una's Restaurant in Frenchville. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Una (Theriault) of Frenchville, Allen of Boulder, Colo., Lynda Ouellette and Judy Bouchard of Frenchville, Jerry of Germany, Catherine Hebert of St. Agatha, Louise Speed of Bradford, Lisa St. Jean of Lisbon Falls, Daniel of Nashua, N.H., Andrew of Eagle, Colo; 26 grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Morrisette and Onielda Sekman, both of Florida; two brothers, Zenon Daigle of Fort Kent and Armand Daigle of Connecticut. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Visiting hour at the Daigle Funeral Home in Madawaska on Monday from 1 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
General Notes: Child - Zenon Daigle
FORT KENT – Zenon A. Daigle passed peacefully in his sleep Feb. 10, 2011, at his home, at the age of 81 years 7 months and 2 days. He is now living his fifth day, after a 14-month battle with <u>cancer <http://new.bangordailynews.com/health-topic/cancer/></u>. He was born July 8, 1929, in Fort Kent, the son of Ludger and Azilda Daigle.
Zenon enjoyed a full life. He enlisted in the National Guard in May 1948, being honorably discharged in July 1959, with the rank of sergeant. He ran a seed potato farm for 35 years and also raised cattle and cut lumber. Upon retirement from farming he subsequently worked as a substitute bus driver and janitor for SAD 27 for 20 years. He served on the board of directors for Farmers Home Administration for 17 years. He was a Legion of Honor member of Catholic Order of Foresters, serving the St. Louis Court 230 in various offices from 1966 to the present, six of which were as chief ranger. He participated actively in the fourth degree Knights of Columbus Council No. 0352, Fort Kent, serving as faithful navigator for three years and as color corps commander for 19 years. He loved his God, his church and his rosary. His most cherished memories included dancing, cooking breakfast on the fireplace at camp and playing cards with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beatrice Daigle of Fort Kent; one brother, Armand and his wife, Gail, of Plainville, Conn.; his 10 children and their spouses, Marcella and Craig Schock of Yorba Linda, Calif., Lucien and Cheryl Daigle of Fort Kent, Lucille and Steve Richardson of Auburn, Mass., Ronald and Doreen Daigle of Fort Kent, Patrick and Ann Daigle of Homer, Ark., Rilda and Michael Corriveau of Underhill, Vt., Marie and Richard Fowler of Greene, Theresa and Robert Godfrey of Greene, Steve and Teri Daigle of Merrill, Wis., and Robert and Jessica Daigle of Fort Kent; 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Adria Klingelsmith and her daughter, Gwen, Chris Schock, Jenna Labbe, Justin, Jared and Timothy Richardson, Mitchell and Joshua Daigle, Simeon, Benjamin, Aspen and Autumn Daigle, Dominique Corriveau and his son, Ezra, Philip, Lydia and Elise Corriveau, Danielle, Ellayna and Taylor Fowler, Jonathan, Samuel, Josiah and Ian Godfrey, Amber and Haley Daigle, Zoe and Sophie Daigle; many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Roger, Edmond and Conrad; and his sisters, Martha and Onilda.

A Mass of Christian burial with full military and fourth degree honors will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. James Nadeau officiating.
