The mill was located onthe canal, only a few blocks north of her home in South Holyoke. Thefamily moved to Willimansett and became next-door neighbors to theLavallee family. Before she married, she enjoyed toe dancing and ballet. She played the piano and was an accomplished seamstress. She was knownby the nickname "Frieda", a name given to her by her half-Germanmother-in-law. Both the Lavallee and the Boisvert families used thisname until her death.
